Trump Says He Will Work With These Members Of Congress - Hint: It's Not Republicans

If there is anything that makes me laugh more about Donald Trump and his supporters is their constant drumbeat about “the establishment.” His supporters rip Rubio because of the Gang of 8 and how he was “working with Schumer.” They go after Ted Cruz because of his relationship to Goldman Sachs. Trump, they argue, would take it to the Democrats and not be like one of those RINO squishes that is always capitulating.

It will be interesting to see how they react to what Trump said should he be elected President:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is stressing his bona fides as a dealmaker who’d be able to enter the White House and work with congressional Democrats to hammer out agreements.

“I think I’m going to be able to get along with Pelosi – I’ve always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi,” Trump said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” referring to the House minority leader.

“Reid’s going to be gone. I’ve always had a decent relationship with Reid,” Trump said, referring to Harry Reid (D-Nev.), the Senate minority leader. “I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid.”

Trump said he thought he’d get along with “just about everybody,” including Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), likely to be the next Senate Democratic leader, who Trump said he was “close to … in many in ways.” [sic]

Emphasis mine. Close to “in many ways.” To Chuck Schumer.

Talk to Trump fans about Marco Rubio and they’ll lecture on how Rubio worked with Schumer on immigration reform. Yet here is Donald Trump talking about how he’d “get along” with Democrats, particularly the likely heir to Harry Reid’s role as minority leader (or majority leader), Chuck Schumer.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that he’d get along with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Remember, Trump has donated more money to Democrats over the years than he has Republicans. Trump has never voted in a Republican presidential primary. Based on the views he has held nearly his entire life (until he decided to run for President as a Republican), he is, for all intents and purposes, a Democrat.

If there is anybody that fits the textbook definition of a RINO, it is Donald Trump.
