This evening, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will meet Vice President Mike Pence on the debate stage for the one and only vice presidential debate of the 2020 campaign. So, which Kamala Harris should we expect to show up tonight, the far-Left liberal or the so-called moderate?
Well, regardless of how she attempts to portray herself tonight, there is one thing Kamala Harris cannot escape: her radical record.
Since being named Joe Biden’s vice-presidential pick, Harris has been depicted as a middle-of-the-road Democrat who is fully on-board with Biden’s supposedly mainstream agenda. However, when one takes a deep dive into Harris’ voting record as a U.S. senator and her tenure as district attorney of California, a far different picture emerges.
Kamala Harris has been in public life since 1990, when she was hired as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California. Four years later, she was appointed to the Golden State’s Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board by California Assembly Speaker Wille Brown, who Harris was dating at the time. Harris was also named to the California Medical Assistance Commission, courtesy of her cozy relationship with the powerful speaker.
In short, Harris’s political career was put on a skyrocketing trajectory from the get-go, most likely due to her romance with Brown, who went on to become mayor of San Francisco in 1996.
In 2004, Harris was elected district attorney of San Francisco. During her time as the top cop of the City by the Bay, Harris was marred in controversy because of her decision to decline to prosecute rampant abuse charges within the city’s highly influential Catholic Church.
According to a recent report by The Intercept, “In her seven years as district attorney, Harris’s office did not proactively assist in civil cases against clergy sex abuse and ignored requests by activists and survivors to access the cache of investigative files that could have helped them secure justice.”
As Joey Piscitelli, who was sexually abused by Catholic priests in San Francisco, explains, “It went from Terence Hallinan going hundred miles an hour, full speed ahead, after the Catholic Church to Kamala Harris doing absolutely nothing and taking it backwards hundred miles an hour.”
In 2011, Harris became attorney general of California. During her six-year tenure, she toed the liberal line to a tee. She fought on behalf of public-employee pension systems. She also was a fierce advocate for “environmental justice,” among many other Left-wing causes.
After establishing her far-Left bona fides as California’s attorney general, Harris decided to run for the U.S. Senate. In 2017, she was sworn in as the junior U.S. senator for the Golden State.
During her time in Washington, DC, Harris has emerged as the most liberal senator, even more liberal than self-avowed Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
To date, Harris has been on the leading edge of the socialist makeover of the Democratic Party. She has co-sponsored several socialistic proposals, including the Green New Deal and Sanders’ Medicare for All bill.
According to Harris, “Climate change is an existential threat—it’s critical we act now to achieve a cleaner, safer, and healthier future. But it is not enough to simply cut emissions and end our reliance on fossil fuels. … We need a Green New Deal based in climate and environmental justice, which means building a clean economy that protects communities that have been neglected by policymakers for far too long. I’m proud to work with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez on this comprehensive proposal, and I’m hopeful that it brings a Green New Deal closer to reality.”
On Medicare for All, Harris is all-in, too. “In America, health care should be a right, not a privilege only for those who can afford it. It’s why we need Medicare for All …We need comprehensive health insurance that covers every American,” said Harris.
The number of socialist proposals supported by Kamala Harris is too long to list. Like all socialists, she wants to raise taxes, redistribute wealth, and squelch freedom via bans on everything from plastic straws to guns.
With less than a month until one of the most consequential elections in American history, the Biden campaign has a done stellar job (with the aid of the mainstream liberal media) hiding the radical record of Kamala Harris.
Tonight, in a debate that will be watched by millions, the question is whether Harris can continue the charade that she is a moderate when all signs point to the exact opposite.
After all, if you believe the adage that “the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior,” then we can predict with some certainty that Kamala Harris, who would be a heartbeat away from the presidency should Joe Biden win, would be the single most radical vice president in American history.
