Yes Mr. President, We Do Need More Guns in Schools

“It’s almost as if the President and the Left are okay with students being fish in a barrel for gunmen in order to exploit the tragedy for gun control.”

The President tried to pre-emptively ridicule the idea that some of us would say we need more guns. But that fact is true.

The President and Left continually say our nation’s gun laws should be more like Europe’s and Australia’s, countries that have banned and confiscated guns. But those nations do not have a second amendment that applies to individuals. We are unique in that regard and likewise are a country of roughly one gun per person.

But our schools continue to be gun free zones and our law abiding citizens continue to honor the law and keep guns away from schools. Criminals, of course, do not honor the law. Consequently, we are a nation of many schools that are just waiting for a gunman to enter. And they do.

The school in Oregon prohibited students from bringing guns to campus. The law abiding students were unarmed and gunned down.

Perhaps if the President wants to spend some money on gun control, he should start giving grants to colleges, elementary, and secondary schools to have trained officers on campus with guns to respond to shooter.

“Oh no,” say leftwing parents, “we don’t want our children around men with guns.” That is fine, but the day may come when your children are around men with guns who aim to use it on them, not the bad guys.

The President and left keep proposing gun control measures in this country that would not stop these sorts of incidents. They refuse proposing the ones that would. It’s almost as if the President and the Left are okay with students being fish in a barrel for gunmen in order to exploit the tragedy for gun control.
