Having been banned after posting one comment and a couple of responses to replies to that comment, and reading through what you laughably call “rules” governing comments trying to figure out why I was banned, I wonder if anyone there could tell me truthfully why. Be honest now – it’s because I dared to disagree with the Great Erick Erickson, right? I hate it when people throw labels around carelessly, but that kind of action on your part is the dictionary definition of fascism: “A tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control.” The sad thing, is, redstate.com might very well be a venue where intelligent discourse could take place. I’m sure you must have a fairly high volume of traffic. I can only assume that the close-minded individuals who apparently constitute that traffic are exactly what the presumably equally close-minded staff of the website wants. It’s so very sad, and so very un-American.

Answer me if you have the courage.

Dear Kevin,

I don’t know who you are. I’ve been out sick. I have never seen that which got you banned from this site. I can assure you it had nothing to do with disagreeing with me because, well, I did not ban you. I do not even know you and yet you seem to think you know me.

I do appreciate, however, that you recognize my greatness and the high traffic of my website. It is, however, disappointing that you equate the operation of a website with fascism. Love is truly better, dear.

Courageously,

Erick Erickson
