I have spent a lot of time on TV and radio this week talking about amending the 14th Amendment to deal with birthright citizenship. It is a non-issue, will not happen, and is unnecessary anyway to deal with the issue.It seems most likely that the amendment was not nor does it necessitate granting birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. Why then is Lindsey Graham bringing this up — particularly when the Democrats and media are using the idea of amending the 14th Amendment to beat up conservatives in an election year?Well, the answer is pretty simple.Lindsey Graham has never before been a big proponent of eradicating birthright citizenship. Why then go all in? The Democrats said no way. They said Ken Buck is fringe, thinks social security is unconstitutional, and is opposed to the federal government taking over and destroying the student loan industry.The Democrats said there was no way Ken Buck could beat Michael Bennet in the Colorado Senate battle.Heck, the GOP establishment said the same thing.According to Rasmussen, Buck is beating Bennet 46% to 41%.Please click here for the rest of the post.

5. Robin Carnahan loves her some bailout

Hearken back to a couple of weeks ago, when I noted how MO Sec’y of State Robin Carnahan has attempted to use TARP as a way to smear MO Congressman Roy Blunt. Blunt and Carnahan are seeking the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Missouri’s Sen. Kit Bond. One of the sources for that post, an article from the Sedalia (MO) Democrat, noted that Ms. Carnahan stated that she thought “TARP money may have been needed to stabilize the economy“. Interesting. But now Robin Carnahan has been recorded stating that “if the bailouts hadn’t happened, there could have been a worse financial problem.”Fascinating statement, coming from someone who has been criticizing her opponent for supporting TARP (from which he later backed out after witnessing the Democrats’ bastardization of the legislation).In that same Sedalia Democrat article, Carnahan’s criticism of “banking executives”:”She called the use of some TARP money to fund large bonuses for banking executives “outrageous” and expressed frustration that “taxpayers were stuck with a bill to clean up their mess.”But interestingly, that Santa Fe meeting where Carnahan pledged her love for TARP was hosted by … a finance industry executive, Catherine Allen.Please click here for the rest of the post.

6. Failing Dems try to “F—” the Tea Party movement

This morning I received a disgusting email from Trevor FitzGibbon of fitzgibbonmedia.com signed by Erica Payne founder and president of some entity called The Agenda Project. According to Politico’s Ben Smith, this is a so-called “progressive group with roots in New York’s fundraising scene.”The sophomoric email asked me to suspend civility:”Set aside your good manners, your tolerance, your measuredunderstanding of policy differences, and your earnest do-gooder ideasfor a [sic.] just a moment to join me in telling the Tea Party what you reallythink of them.”The email proudly announces that the “F**k Tea Movement” was launched at Netroots, a.k.a.
