During an exchange with a reporter at Monday night’s White House press briefing, President Trump suspected she might be working for China. After the great gnashing of teeth over his “misogynist” comments by the libs, it turns out he was right. Here is a transcript of the relevant segment.
President Trump: “We had the biggest trade deficits in the history of the world with China. Now China has agreed to spend $250 billion, many billions of dollars in our country, much of it going to farmers and manufacturers. So, I’ll let you know. I mean, I hope they’re going to honor the deal. We’ll find out.”
Hong Kong Phoenix TV’s Youyou Wang: “Was China, are you cooperating with China?
Trump: “Who are you working for, China?”
Wang: “I’m not. I’m working for Hong Kong…”
Trump: “Who are you with?”
Wang: “Hong Kong Phoenix TV.”
Trump: “Who owns that, China?”
Wang: “It’s based in Hong Kong.”.
Trump: “Is it owned by the state?”
Wang: “No, it’s not. It’s a privately owned company.”
Trump: “Okay, good. Okay, uh, look, I’ll let you know. I’ll give you a good answer to that in a few months. I want to see what they do. Because it’s time for them to help us, okay. It’s time right now for China to help us. And hopefully, they do. And if they don’t, that’s okay too. But we signed a deal. It was signed with great good will and spirit and it’s time that our farmers benefited, our manufacturers benefited and we’ll see whether or not that deal is still on.”

Triggered, liberals immediately pounced. PBS’ Yamiche Alcindor, who frequently clashes with the President, tweeted: “President Trump just asked a reporter from Phoenix TV which is based in Hong Kong repeatedly if she’s working for China. She said she works for a private company in Hong Kong that is not owned by the state. Trump said, “OK good.””
This was followed by other tweets such as “OMG. He’s a pig” and “The misogyny is strong with him.”
Actually, Wang was not being truthful with the President.
According to Fox News, consultant Elliot Schwartz found that:
In 2018, a former Phoenix TV news director testified as part of an FCC filing that the outlet is essentially controlled by China’s Communist Propaganda Department, and follows a directive to not report positively on the United States…
Specifically, the former director, Chung Pong, remarked: “I know from personal experience that Phoenix TV’s content is subject to the dictates of the leadership of the Central Communist Propaganda Department, Central Communist Overseas Propaganda Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which often directly sent instructions to Phoenix Satellite TV.”
Raheem Kassam, the Editor-in-Chief of the National Pulse, assures us that Wang’s answer was disingenuous. Kassam explains the ownership of the company:
The Hong Kong/Cayman Islands based Phoenix Media is actually owned in large part by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and by a former CCP propaganda officer.
As of 2018, Phoenix Satellite Holdings was owned by Liu Changle (37.1% of shares). Changle is a “former PLA propaganda official who is close to senior Chinese government leaders”.
Changle previously worked as a propaganda officer for China National Radio (then known as the Central People’s Broadcasting Station).
A further 20 percent of the company is owned by Extra Step Investments Limited, in turn owned by China Mobile Hong Kong, which itself is owned by the Chinese government-owned China Mobile.
Eight more percent of the company is owned by China Wise Investment Ltd, owned by the Bank of China.
This means at least 65 percent of the company is owned by the government of China.
The White House Correspondents Association must surely answer to why they are allowing a CCP propagandist a seat in the White House Press Briefing Room.
Liberals will never comprehend two simple concepts. President Trump is not always wrong and not everything is his fault. Actually, they likely understand both very well, but hell would freeze over before they’d admit it.
