DEMOCRATS SAYING AND DOING STUPID THINGS

Proving that a liberal never passes up an opportunity to take advantage of a tragic situation, Tennessee Democratic Congresscritter Steve Cohen recently compared Trump to the Notre Dame Cathedral fire:

What he has done to the Constitution and the rule of law is as bad as that fire did to Notre Dame…He’s torching the entire structure of government and the people’s respect for it. And the Congress needs to act.

THE 2019 INQUISITION

The House Financial Services Committee is a bizarre clown show chaired by Maxine Waters (D-CA), but vying for the role of most demented is Al Green (D-TX) which begs the question: wasn’t he a 1970’s R&B singer?  In a recent hearing where the panel of bank executives submitted themselves to the torture of a hearing, Green noticed that all the bank CEOs were (gasp!) white.  He then launched into a tirade about current banks being responsible for slavery many, many, many decades ago.

THE SECOND DEATH OF KATE SMITH

This was previously covered on these pages, but a dead singer was recently at the center of a controversy because she recorded some, er…racist songs in the 1930’s.  She also has performed the definitive version of “God Bless America.”  However, because of her actions in the 1930’s, the New York Yankees have decided to stop playing the song during their home game seventh inning stretch.  The Philadelphia Flyers hockey team, which used the song and Smith herself as s good luck charm when they actually won playoff games, likewise decided to stop celebrating her memory and even had the iconic statute of Smith covered over.

THE INQUISITION, PART DEUX

Camilla Paglia is professor at the University of the Arts who is highly critical of feminism today.  You can see where this is going.  A petition started by Change.org is now requesting that Paglia be terminated for not conforming to the cultural Marxist view that gender is a social construct.  Moreover, they are demanding that she be replaced by a “queer person of color.”

THE INQUISITION, PART TRE

Not content with purging faculty, dead singers and their statues and bank CEOs, the social justice warriors of Oak Park, Illinois have managed to have a 1930’s mural covered over at a school because there are not the appropriate number of people of color represented in the mural.  The title of the mural- “Child and Sports-Winter-” was painted in 1930 when the population was 90% white.  Regardless, it is winter sports…

EVEN PAPER TOWELS ARE NOT EXEMPT

There are some protests within the feminist community about the new packaging for Brawny Towels. The old packaging featured a lumberjack clad in flannel to demonstrate the strength of their paper towels.  The new packaging features three females which has triggered some feminists who are crying “sexism” since the manufacturer seems to be implying, in their minds, that it takes three women to do the job of one hunky lumberjack.  Some people have too much time on their hands…

ON A SERIOUS NOTE

Let us remember and pray for the many killed in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday and all those killed, but seemingly forgotten Christians, in sub-Sahara Africa because their beliefs differ from crazed zealots of other faiths and political persuasions.  The Christian genocide in Africa is an under-reported story in the media that has been ignored for too long.  Last year, almost 1,800 Christians were slaughtered in Nigeria alone.  Sadly, you would be hard-pressed to find a story in the mainstream media about this callous loss of life.
