I've pointed this out before, but it's worth saying again. Socialism is composed of two groups of people. There's the top layer, which consists of smart, strategic, and very power-hungry authoritarians who are more than willing to sacrifice civilization if it means they get to rule the rubble, convinced that they're better than everyone else and deserve to remake society in their image.
And the rest of them are the idiots who are easily sold on the lies the top layer tells them.
I was reading about the Labor Day event being put on by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), as reported by my colleague, Jennifer O'Connell, and found the entire situation both infuriating and hysterical. The same feeling you get when you're arguing with someone you know is 100 percent wrong, but due to their own stupidity, you can't convince them to break from their delusion.
O'Connell points out some of the "ideas" these DSA members shared with others during the event, one of which was about being healthy:
Activist and author Beatrice Adler-Bolton, who just penned a book called "Health Communism," spouted more gobbledygook, advocating that the socialist movement give up being "fitter than the fascists." Down with the patriarchy and capitalistic aims like trying to be attractive, get in shape, and choose health over sickness... or something like that.
Good summary, but to get the full blast of stupid they put out here, they should be heard directly:
We have to give up the fantasy of being fitter than the fascists. It’s not just that it’s cringe or strategically bad — though it is. I think this is also politically revealing. Fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism. Our task is not to become less disposable; to become more useful to the ruling order. What we all need to be doing is rejecting disposability in all of those forms. The point is not to defeat the fascists at their own game. It is not to lay a better claim on their territory by being fitter; more eugenic. In fact, the more dysgenic, the better, I think. Revolution is not a competition between optimized and properly prepared bodies. This idea is fascist in and of itself and erases the history of the struggles of our world.

This is all said while the people on the stage are wearing masks, and the woman has a plastic bottle of water next to her that displays "death panel" on the side, turned just right so people can see it.
There are a lot of stupid things about this, the most obvious being the idea of becoming incredibly unhealthy to own the chuds. If this call to action was stripped down to its most basic meaning, what this scholar is suggesting is to die slowly and painfully, and not necessarily for the cause, but out of spite for the "fascists."
The "fascists" in question are just normal people, by the way.
And to that I say, "by all means." I'm not an atheist, and I'm not a firm believer in evolution, but I do think Darwin's idea that only the strongest survive was correct, and I have no problem with this level of idiocy being filtered from the gene pool. The useful idiots of the DSA can join the ranks of the Dodo with my full support.
That said, what I find even more hysterical is that for all their talk of not enslaving themselves to the "fascist system," they're going above and beyond to enslave themselves to that very "fascist system."
Starting with the very masks on their face. Who do they think made them? Hippies on a commune? Nope. It was a corporation that churned them out, probably using something akin to slave labor in a factory overseas.
Who do they think made wearing masks a requirement? Who do they think came up with the vaccine? Who do they think distributed it? Who do they think created the needles to inject them? Who do they think created the distribution system required to get them to the clinics?
If they insist on being fatter than Willie Nelson's joint, who do they think is going to help them when their health problems start popping up like whack-a-mole targets?
Here's another question I would love to get answered: These people believe that mental health means being prescribed a mountain's worth of SSRIs and mood-altering drugs. Who do they think makes them? Who do they think approves them?
It's the corporations tied to the very system of oppression they claim to hate. They are enslaving themselves while fooling themselves into thinking they're independent. This is like a "no parents allowed" sign on your bedroom door while you live under their roof, still eating three square meals and enjoying their electricity, hot water, and protection.
I want to remind everyone that leftism does not require you to focus on outcomes. In fact, it strongly dissuades you from considering them. What it really needs you to focus on is the emotion of your conviction. If it feels right, then it is right, no matter how wrong it is.
It feels right to call Israeli soldiers "baby killers" and condemn them for a "genocide" against the innocent, but it also feels right to call a child-killer like Lindsay Clancy a hero. It feels right to become outraged when people stand in the way of a parent dosing their child with hormone drugs that will alter their lives forever, but it also feels right to be outraged when a parent wants to keep their child home and teach them themselves.
There need not be any moral, or even logical, consistency. Morality and reality are entirely subjective here.
It's an idiot's way to live. It's a kind of thinking that discourages critical thinking, but this works just fine for the puppeteers who need these idiots to come to power. If they do, these idiots can be lined up against a wall and disposed of so that the risk of said idiocy being harnessed by others and used against them is reduced.
In the meantime, they make very useful slaves.
