Jasmine Crockett Wants to Be Like Trump, and That's Why She's Going to Lose Her Texas Senate Race

I think President Donald Trump is right. Jasmine Crockett is a "low-IQ" individual, and I think she continues to prove that in many ways every day, but none more so than when she tries to be President Trump.

As you may know, Crockett is attempting to run for Senate in Texas to replace John Cornyn. This has made Democrats, especially hard-leftists, very angry for a few reasons. For one, she's not exactly generating a lot of goodwill with the left due to votes for Israel aid packages, taking corporate PAC money, and not exactly pushing wealth redistribution forced on billionaires.

Contributing editor at The New Republic, Aaron Regunberg, watched Crockett's campaign announcement ad and wasn't impressed.

"Just wanna be clear, for when the corporate centrists try to blame her loss on us — Jasmine Crockett isn’t of the left," he posted. "She’s not an economic populist. She’s what you get when you refuse to prioritize substance. She’s a symptom of your political and governance model."

The video reinforces his point. It's just Crockett standing silently, looking stoic while audio of Trump lobbing insults at her plays.

It's a neat concept, but not one that's going to make the Democrat Party forgive her of her sins against them. In fact, it comes off more as a "me, me, me," kind of ad, which Crockett's brand is known for already.

Crockett's issue isn't just that she's not a team player. It's that she's the product of Trump-era politics, and by that I mean she saw what works for Trump and decided to apply it to herself.

Let's get real here. Trump doesn't take prisoners. He shoots first, asks questions later. Every time he opens his mouth to comment on someone on the left, it's to rip them to shreds and make them look ridiculous. He's consistently poking them, mocking them, and deliberately angering them because it gets them to walk directly into whatever trap he's laid for them. Love it or hate it, this works very well for Trump.

Some politicians like Crockett saw that and said, "If it works for him, it can work for me," and began focusing more on fighting fire with fire than actually playing ball within the Democrat Party, and that's not something the Democrat Party appreciates, especially its radical portion. To be clear, Crockett gets more than her fair share of viral moments because of her Trump-like fighting style, but Crockett isn't Trump.

Trump has two things going for him. For starters, he's a natural at antagonizing his enemies. They say "do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life," and that sums up Trump's will to fight Democrats every chance he gets. Crockett is also someone who loves to antagonize people, but she's not as suave about it as Trump. She seems angry, entitled, and bitter, whereas Trump looks like he's having the time of his life.

But secondly, Trump's antagonism results in substantive change for the country and often for the better. Crockett's antagonism helps Crockett, and she doesn't seem to think that's an issue. Her Senate ad only reinforces this. The only constituent Crockett's concerned about is Crockett. She doesn't play the game with Democrats; in fact, she wears the D while bucking the party's taboos. This is also a Trump thing to do, but again, Trump was always willing to do this because the Republican Party's means and ways weren't getting the job done for America. Crockett is doing it because, again, it benefits Crockett.

She wants to be all the shallow parts of Trump, but doesn't have the intelligence to embrace the substantive parts of him.

So she's going to lose her Senate race. She doesn't have the backing of enough working-class Democrats, she's making the radical Democrats angry, and I'm still struggling to understand what it is she's trying to bring to the table other than stroking her own ego.

Even radical Democrats pretend to care about the people they're trying to get votes from.
