I feel like I've published 1,000 articles about this subject, and I feel like I'll have 1,000 more if this keeps up.
Democrats and men are two opposing sides, which is an odd thing to say when you break it down. One is an American political party, and one is the male of an entire species. You'd think the Democrat Party would practice some level of kindness or respect toward half the population, as it's needed to win elections and maintain power.
The issue is, the Democrat Party's chosen ideological leanings make men out to be a societal negative worthy of scorn and derision, and now it's trying to figure out why men don't want to be in league with the Party.
A group of Einstein-level intellects. I know.
As my colleague Bonchie reported, this probe into the issue is coming up with infuriating results for the Democrats, who, judging by the language used, can't seem to drop the lens they look at men through:
Young men in swing states say the Democratic Party abandoned them, leaving them feeling helpless in providing for their families as prices rose and jobs evaporated. They felt no sympathy from the left, who they say brushed away their legitimate economic woes by citing their male privilege. They acknowledge historical patriarchy but assert that doesn’t make them invincible in a job market where graduate unemployment is concentrated among men.
[...]
Men feeling left behind elicits eye rolls in many corners of the Democratic Party. The gender pay gap persists, with women making 85 percent of what men earned in 2024, despite greater female participation in the workforce than in past decades. The numerous calls from party leaders to appeal to the “manosphere” and appear less “woke” also elicit concerns that that means throwing marginalized groups under the bus on issues like trans or women’s rights.
The amount of self-inflicted ignorance in these paragraphs alone is mind-boggling, but I want to point out a couple of key things that the Democrats don't see that many others might as if it were a giant neon light sign in the middle of a field at midnight.
For starters, men thrive on respect, and the Democrat Party isn't just unable, but unwilling to give it to men.
To do so, it would have to drop a lot of its stances, such as the idea that men should suffer social consequences for being men, including the idea that they should have opportunities removed from them in order to artificially empower other groups, such as women or transgender people. If a man hones his skills to become a real talent that could result in merit, hearing an entire party say he should be dismissed because a man who identifies as a woman should have more representation — whether talented or not — is horrendously disrespectful.
As I've noted before, respect means more to a man than most other positive emotions do, even competing with love. If the Democrat Party cannot acknowledge a man's talents, words, or presence with respect, then that man will go elsewhere to find it.
This is at the heart of the issue with Democrats and men. Democrats don't want to show men a basic level of respect and cast them as troublesome creatures born with original sin. Their mere presence is a burden to everyone around them, especially women, according to the left. As such, the left suggests they need to be treated as second-class citizens, without directly saying that.
Moreover, the Democrat Party can't get past the idea of "male privilege," which does not exist outside of isolating advantages men have been given by nature. The idea that somehow men have it better because they're men ignores the amount of disadvantages that come with it, or the advantages given to women that men provide at cost to their own safety, time, and resources. It also ignores all the advantages women are given, and only focuses on their particular disadvantages — often given by nature — which are also somehow blamed on men.
That's not even counting the disadvantages thrust on men by leftists and the Democrat Party themselves, including the societal and professional disrespect.
If the Democrats wanted to bring men into the fold again, they'd have to ditch this idea that men are somehow guilty of everything and deserving of punishment, which they do acknowledge would force a complete retooling, and the stopping the attempt to build it in a way they see fit. However, if they don't do this, the Democrat Party will continue to lose men, and as they do, their chances that they'll win elections will reduce as well.
