One of the greatest fears of red states such as Florida and Texas is that their attractiveness is going to bring migrants from other states that want their low cost of living, low taxes, larger properties, and job availability, but then don’t learn their lesson about why their state was so messed up like it was. Their voting habits made for bad policies which made for a bad situation in their blue state, which lead to them fleeing said blue state for the greener pastures of the red state.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis seems to be noticing an interesting pattern that puts a lot of fears to rest. According to him, people aren’t just leaving their state, they’re also leaving their status as a Democrat on the ground as they go. By the time they get to Florida, they’re full-fledged Republican voters.

Speaking at a town hall on Fox New’s Hannity, host Sean Hannity brought up the issue of blue migrants turning red states a shade of purple, but DeSantis relieved his constituents by noticing the pattern he’s seeing for new arrivals.

“So, all of you have this problem,” Hannity said. “And the problem is people from New York, and New Jersey, and California, and Michigan, they’re leaving their states and they’re going to your states. You’re — Florida seeing a huge impact of migration out of the — out of these blue states. Now, my only fear for all of you — and I’ll let you start first, Governor DeSantis — is that they may bring their liberal policies with them.”

DeSantis said that it’s interesting that you had so many Democrats slamming Florida for being wrong about everything under the sun, especially COVID-19, and saying that New York is doing so much better than Florida when they were actually 10 times worse up north than down south. He added that people who bought into that phony narrative are likely staying up north, but he noticed those that saw through it came to Florida and registered Republican.

“And so, I think what it did is the people that buy those phony narratives for these media, they probably aren’t coming to Florida,” said DeSantis. “But most people see through it. But the people that see through it, they think like us. And so, I think a lot of these people are coming. I think they are registering as Republicans overwhelming.”

“And I also have come across a lot of people who, quite frankly, were Democrats,” he continued. “The lockdowns turned them into Republicans, because they say, I cannot fathom. I was — people say, I was a Democrat because of education and I’m in California and they’re locking my kids out of school. I come to Florida, they’re in school. People are free. People are happy.”

Back in December, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said something similar to Tucker Carlson on fears that Texas was going to turn purple.

“Two years ago, I was on the same ballot that Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke were on the ballot,” said Abbott. “We did an exit poll asking people after they left the polls, did you vote for Ted Cruz or did you vote for Beto O’Rourke, and then we asked them ‘did you move California or are you a native-born Texan. The results of that poll showed that 58 percent of the people who moved from California voted for Ted Cruz.”

“Interestingly, that almost identically matches a separate poll that was taken — also an exit poll from the same election — that showed that 57 percent of the people who moved from California voted for Ted Cruz and both of those polls matched a study that was done a couple of years before that that asked Californians who came to Texas ‘are you conservative or are you liberal?’ Fifty-seven percent of the people who moved from California said they were conservative, 27 percent of the people who moved from California said they were liberal,” added Abbott.

People are learning the cost of living in a blue state and it’s not just monetary. In the age of COVID-19, blue states are obedient to unions where in red states they’re obedient to the people. In blue states, they claim to follow the science while enforcing unnecessary lockdowns while in red states they are open, thriving, and in business.

Over time, Democrats are going to chase so many out of their state that there will be no one to foot the bill and it will collapse under the weight of its own debts and regulations. So one way or another, the blue state collapse happens.

But it seems that, for the time being, red states are going to be a fine shade of red for a few more years yet.
