Emails Reveal Nashville City Government Hid COVID-19 Info From Public to Keep City in Lockdown

In a disturbing revelation, emails discovered by local press show that Nashville’s leadership hid information about the virility of the COVID-19 virus in order to keep city lockdowns in place.

According to Fox affiliate, WZTV in Nashville, Tennessee, emails between the Mayor’s senior advisor and the Health Department show that information was given to them about the Coronavirus that showed cases resulting from bars and restaurants were incredibly low. City leadership’s reaction was to keep this away from the public’s view and keep the city in an unnecessary lockdown:

On June 30th, contact tracing was given a small view of coronavirus clusters. Construction and nursing homes were found to be causing problems with more than a thousand cases traced to each category, but bars and restaurants reported just 22 cases.

Leslie Waller from the health department asks, “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?”

“Correct, not for public consumption,” writes senior advisor Benjamin Eagles.

A month later, the health department was asked point blank about the rumor there are only 80 cases traced to bars and restaurants.

Reporter Nate Rau asks, “The figure you gave of ‘more than 80’ does lead to a natural question: If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Davidson and only 80 or so are traced to restaurants and bars, doesn’t that mean restaurants and bars aren’t a very big problem?”

Nashville Health Department official Brian Todd asked five other officials how he should respond to the question and received an answer that effectively told him to be vague about the totals because the numbers were actually so low.

“My two cents. We have certainly refused to give counts per bar because those numbers are low per site,” read the response from an unknown official.

“We could still release the total though, and then a response to the over 80 could be because that number is increasing all the time and we don’t want to say a specific number.”

According to a WZTV, both the Mayor’s office and the Health Department confirm that the email is real thanks to an inquiry by Nashville City Council Member Steve Glover’s attorney.

“They are fabricating information,” Glover said. “They’ve blown there entire credibility Dennis. Its gone, I don’t trust a thing they say going forward …nothing.”

“We raised taxes 34 percent and put hundreds literally thousands of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes, their apartments…and we did it on bogus data. That should be illegal,” Glover said.

WZTV noted that this idea of bogus information is still being denied by the Nashville Mayor’s office but that any more information would have to come from a Freedom of Information Act request.

The report ends with the writer of the article asking why the Mayor’s office would even want to hide this information from the people.

We’re increasingly noticing that the reason for the lockdowns is less about keeping people safe and more about politics. Nashville’s Mayor, John Cooper, is a Democrat, and it is Democrats who are keeping areas under their control in a lockdown, while Republican leaders are lifting restrictions left and right.

With the 2020 election coming up, there are a few issues for the Democrats — issues that make President Donald Trump too powerful to defeat. The main one is the economy, and the Coronavirus was the perfect excuse to keep America’s economy from growing, and returning to the powerhouse it was under Trump’s leadership.

With no logical answer as to why Democrats want to keep everyone in lockdown despite information telling us that the lockdowns aren’t working and were ultimately unnecessary, what we’re left with is political positioning.

To be clear, the Democrats have destroyed millions of lives so they could give themselves a foothold in a presidential election. People’s jobs have been wiped out, businesses they built closed, and suicide rates have skyrocketed, all so that they had a better chance of beating Donald Trump.

If this is happening in Nashville, what other cities is this happening in?
