When the vote passed to impeach President Donald Trump, I was happy. Not because I think Trump needed to be impeached. I’m still confused as to what he’s being impeached for beyond “Orange Man hurt muh fee-fees and I don’t likes him.”
I was happy because I thought “finally, this circus is over. Now maybe we can get back to talking about things that really matter.”
Alas, that’s not going to happen. The show, as they say, must go on, and actually impeaching Trump has no worth for Democrats. Case in point, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t going to deliver the two articles of impeachment over to the Senate despite passing them both in the House.
Why? That’s obvious. For one, doing so would put the matter of impeachment into the hands of a very Republican Senate lead by a very Republican Mitch McConnell who has made it clear that he’s very Republi-can going to make life hell for the Democrats over it.
What’s more, if it ends, then the stain on Trump won’t stick. The funny part is, if Pelosi doesn’t deliver those articles to McConnell, then some legal experts, including law professor Noah Feldman who testified before the House Judiciary Committee in favor of impeaching Trump, say that Trump technically isn’t impeached and, at this time, remains without an asterisk next to his name…at least officially.
Pelosi knows that, but the official part isn’t what she cares about. According to the narrative circulating around the mainstream media, Trump has been impeached and nobody really needs to know more than that.
Radio show host Rush Limbaugh said it best about Pelosi’s intentions on his show.
“This is all about the blemish,” Limbaugh said. “This is all about the asterisk. This is all about the black mark. This is all about 2020. This is all about Donald Trump was impeached, period. Not Donald Trump was impeached and acquitted in a Senate trial. Donald Trump was impeached. And she is counting on the fact that the idiocy of her base will think that means that Trump has been claimed illegitimate and unqualified and mission accomplished. That’s it.”
And here we arrive at something that should stick out like a sore thumb for all of America.
Pelosi is counting on stupidity and ignorance to rule the day. The less you know about what’s really going on, the better. The darker that is over this impeachment show, the more her narrative can thrive. It certainly can’t in the sunlight.
Anybody who is paying attention to what’s going on and has two brain cells to rub together will see this as a massive insult to us. Here is Pelosi blatantly lying and playing dirty politics, all the while hoping that we don’t find out exactly what’s going on or what she’s doing. She’s treating us as pawns in her game of thrones.
Disgustingly, she talks about fairness in this impeachment process being a big deal while she and the Democrats paraded useless witness after useless witness in front of the country to offer absolutely nothing in terms of a committed crime or wrongdoing only to impeach him anyway.
“We cannot name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side,” Pelosi said of sending it to a Republican Senate. “And I would hope that that will be soon. … So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us. So hopefully it will be fair. And when we see what that is, we’ll send our managers.”
Limbaugh has her pegged there, too.
“All she’s really saying is she’s not going to send those things over there if it appears that there’s going to be an acquittal because that cancels out everything they’re doing here. It really isn’t any more complicated than that,” he said.
“All the leftist and Democrat analysts on TV today are trying to cover up for it by claiming, ‘No, Pelosi has leverage. Pelosi’s got all the leverage.’ Pelosi doesn’t have any leverage. As Mitch McConnell said — I’m gonna’ paraphrase, and this was a great line — McConnell said how in the world can she have leverage when she won’t send us what we don’t want? He doesn’t want those articles. He’d be very happy if she never sent them over, just declare a mistrial and be done with it,” he added.
Trump being impeached and acquitted would be one of the worst things to happen to the Democrats. It’s already elevated Trump’s approval numbers and all but secured 2020 for Republicans in general. All Pelosi has left is the show, and that show only works if her people stay blind, deaf, and dumb.
This is how the Democrats want you. This is how they see you.
This is why they need to lose 2020.
