The relationship between CNN’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta and President Donald Trump hasn’t been good since the word go.
As I’ve stated time and again, Acosta acts less like a diligent journalist and more like an activist trying to sink a President with questions and actions that would make him nearly indistinguishable from angry protesters if it weren’t for the expensive suit and the press pass.
As soon as Trump called on Acosta, Acosta began to “correct” Trump about his comments on the migrant caravan working its way to the United States. Trump noted that he does consider a bunch of migrants looking to enter the United States as an “invasion,” and told Acosta that he wants them to go through the process.
Acosta returned by trying to nail Trump on his tone about the migrants trying to illegally gain access to the U.S., noting the ads Trump released that featured illegal migrants climbing over the border fence.
“They’re not actors,” Trump told Acosta.
“They’re hundreds of miles away,” said Acosta. “They’re hundreds and hundreds of miles away. That’s not an invasion.”
At that point, Trump seemed to have had enough.
“Honestly, I think you should let me run the country. You run CNN, and if you did it well your ratings would be much better,” said Trump, who called on another reporter.
This triggered Acosta, who attempted to keep going with his questions, even going so far as to push a woman who was trying to get the microphone from him out of the way in order to continue talking by bringing up the Russian investigation once again. Trump called it a hoax then proceeded to walk away from the podium. The woman was then able to snag the microphone from Acosta who then immediately sat down.
“I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them,” said Trump pointing at Acosta. “You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN.”
“You are a very rude person,” he added. “The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible.”

Here’s another angle of Acosta as he struggled to keep the microphone as the woman was attempting to take it from him.

Acosta’s behavior during his run-ins with Trump has always followed this pattern. Shouting out inappropriate or clownish questions isn’t something new to the CNN reporter. However, that he actually put up something of a fight against a woman trying to take a microphone from him after being dismissed is a new level of ridiculous.
