WATCH: Phil Bredesen Campaign Staff Insult Tennesseeans and Unwittingly Reveal Bredesen's Show of Centrism as a Hoax

The appeal of Tennessee Democratic candidate Phil Bredesen is that he’s not like the hard-line Democrats you see generating waves in the news, but according to his unwitting campaign staff, that appears to be a mask.

An undercover video from Project Veritas exposed Bredesen’s centrism for what it really is; a way to get elected. He’ll be a “good Democrat” once he’s in office, though, revealed Bredesen’s field coordinator Will Stewart and staffer Maria Amalla, who didn’t know they were being filmed.

In the video from  Project Veritas, we can see the undercover journalist asking about Bredesen’s support of Kavanaugh:

JOURNALIST: “Like he wouldn’t really vote yes [for Kavanaugh,] would he?

AMALLA: “No, it’s a political move… He thinks that like we’re down like half a point right now. It’s like really close and we’re losing by a point or two. So he thinks that if like by saying this he’s appealing to more moderate republicans and he’ll get more of them to vote for us.”

JOURNALIST: “I was so confused because I just can’t believe he would actually vote [for Kavanaugh.]

STEWART: “He wouldn’t. But he’s saying he would… Which I don’t know if it makes it worse or better. No, it makes it better… “

Stewart, as well as fellow staffer Drew Marshall, revealed to the journalist that Bredesen is trying to hide his connections to Democratic party leadership in order to seem more appealing to Republicans:

MARSHALL: “We would scare all the people who would vote for Phil Bredesen, but not [Senate Democratic Leader] Chuck Schumer.”

STEWART: “Yeah, exactly, because there’s a lot of republicans who are going to vote for [Bredesen…]”

STEWART: “Yeah. And that’s how they’re messaging against us… that he’s gonna be a ‘toe the line’ democrat voter… Because there are people who loved him as Governor but won’t vote for a democrat for national office.”

Stewart revealed that this is all optics to fool Republicans into believing that Bredesen is a safe Democrat to vote for, but reassured the undercover journalist that once in office, he’d be Schumer’s man.

“Between you and me once Phil actually gets into the Senate, he’ll be a good Democrat,” said Stewart.

According to Stewart, the only reason Bredesen is showing any support for Kavanaugh is that Tennesseeans are “ignorant.”

JOURNALIST: “So he’ll lose voters if he says yes [to not confirming Kavanaugh?]”

STEWART: “Oh, straight up, yeah.”

JOURNALIST: “Are the people of Tennessee that ignorant?”

STEWART: “Yeah.”

So there you have it. It would seem that Bredesen is not only fooling Tennesseeans with the false promise of centrism, but it seems he and his campaign staff don’t think too much of the intelligence of Tennesseeans to boot.

I wonder what Taylor Swift thinks of that.
