Watch: A Highly Displeased Mike Pence Responds to Joy Behar Calling Christianity a Mental Illness

Vice-President Mike Pence became pretty serious when the topic switched to Joy Behar bashing him on The View. But Pence made it clear that he wasn’t angry with Behar attacking him personally, he was upset that she had essentially attacked the central part of many people’s lives in order to get to him.

It all started when ex-Trump staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman ranted about Pence on reality television, saying that if they thought Trump was bad, then Pence would be worse. Omarosa described Pence as a religious nut and mentioned that he believes God actually talks to him. For some reason, the ladies of The View thought this was a pertinent thing with which to jump on the Pence bash-wagon, and Behar especially decided to turn the crazy up to 11.

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness if I’m not correct. Hearing voices,” said Behar.

During Pence’s Q&A with Axios co-founder Mike Allen, Allen asked the VP if he had watched The View’s attack on him and Christianity. Pence said he had.

“Look, criticism comes with this job,” Pence noted. “I heard that ABC has a program that compared my Christianity to mental illness. And I’d like to laugh about it but I really can’t.”

Pence seemed visibly perturbed, but was holding it back.

“Tens of millions of Americans today will have ash on their foreheads to mark the beginning of Lent,” Pence said. “To have ABC maintain a broadcast forum that compared Christianity to mental illness is just wrong.”

“It’s an insult, not to me, but to the vast majority of American people who, like me, cherish their faith,” he asserted. “It demonstrates how out of touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people.”

Pence finished by stating that it’s wrong for ABC to air such religious intolerance.

While ABC is free and clear to do whatever they want with their own private network, the people are free and clear to look at Behar as the intolerant person Pence described.
