If you want to see the true plight of veterans under socialized health care and leftist policies, then one wounded veteran confronting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a sad window through which you can see a small part.
Brock Blaszczyk lost his leg in Afghanistan while serving in the Canadian military via a roadside bomb.
“Back in 2015, you made a promise and I’ll quote it here: “No veteran will be forced to fight their government for the support and compensation they have earned.” Yet you are still currently in a legal battle with veterans regarding equal support and compensation to their peers,” noted Blaszczyk.
The veteran went on to note that he and his fellow vets are still fighting to get the necessary treatment they need despite Trudeau’s promise, and yet ISIS members returning to Canada are being treated to reintegration programs and more.
“You have ISIS members coming into a reintegration program. You did a backdoor deal with Omar Khadr with not even stepping into a courtroom,” said Blaszczyk.
For those who don’t know who Omar Khadr is, he is a terrorist who was awarded over $10 million from the Canadian government with an apology for interfering with this rights, despite the fact that he pleaded guilty to five different war crimes while he was in Afghanistan.
“My question is: what veterans were you talking about?” asked the vet. “Was it the ones that fought for the freedoms and values that you so proudly boast about? Or was it the ones who fought against?”
“I was prepared to be killed in action. What I wasn’t prepared for, Mr. Prime Minister, is Canada turning it’s back on me,” said Blaszczyk to applause.
Trudeau’s response was something sickening.
“Why are we still fighting against certain veterans’ groups in court? Because they are asking for more than we are able to give right now,” said Trudeau.
The Canadian government can’t take care of its own troops, yet will award millions to a terrorist, and fund programs that take care of many more.
This is your country on leftism.
