School choice for me but not for thee appears to be the position of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. After previously decrying the freedom for parents to choose the schools they want their children to attend, it turns out that avowed “Democrat Socialist” and Bernie Sanders surrogate wants it for her family
In fact, she pulled some strings to get her goddaughter into a high rated charter school, even as she doesn’t want you having that choice.
How nice that @AOC claims to have helped her goddaughter get into a public charter school. It’s a shame she works to deny that opportunity to every other disadvantaged family in America. “Good for me, but not for thee,” indeed. #EducationFreedomhttps://t.co/a2RhOEeU0o

This is how socialism always works. They don’t mean for any of their proclamations to apply to themselves. They want you to pay the higher taxes, live in the concrete cubicle, and have crappy government healthcare. But they still want access to all the amenities that capitalism has provided. It’s no surprise that AOC is just as much of a hypocrite as Bernie “I own three houses” Sanders is.
Some may think this is petty to point out, but it’s not petty. It’s very, very relevant, as it exposes the inherit classism that happens under socialist ideology, where the ruling class live high on the hog while the rest pay the price. Everyone should have access to the public schools they want (given there’s enough physical room at a given school) and there’s no reason to deny parents that choice.
AOC is the typical socialist promoter who wears the $800 dress while doing The View and living in an elite, luxury high rise. It’s obscenely hypocritically and deserves to be called out.
