They are never going to stop, are they?

The justified killing of Qassem Soleimani some days ago sent the left into a fit of rage, not necessarily for righteous reasons, but because it further showed Barack Obama’s Iran strategy to be a total failure. The former administration had not only given Soleimani a pass for his war crimes, they carved out exemptions for him in sanctions just to make sure he was living well, so liberals had naturally convinced themselves that his breathing was vital to peace in the region. Well, that and anything Trump does must be opposed, even if it’s objectively a good thing like killing the world’s deadliest terrorist.

Given that, the responses from Democrats have ranged from Nancy Pelosi blaming America for an escalation the Iranians started to Ilhan Omar claiming it’s to distract from impeachment (which makes no sense because Trump is winning the impeachment battle).

Then there’s Ro Khanna, who is now floating the idea of impeaching Trump over the strike. Yes, these people are talking a new impeachment before the trial for the old one has even started.

Congressman Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) declared on MSNBC today that any further military action ordered by the president that is not sanctioned by Congress is a “potentially impeachable offense.” Somehow, I don’t think that will be much of a deterrent to the president.

Let’s just have an impeachment every quarter. We could go ahead and schedule them out ahead of time and have previews of what the next impeachment will bring. It could become the new national past time. Isn’t it amazing how these Democrats never found it impeachable to drone thousands of people, including an American citizen, without due process, but suddenly killing the maniac from Iran is criminal in nature?

If that wasn’t stupid enough, Ro Khanna then went on Fox News and dropped this whopper of a comment.

“I believe the President Obama had a strategy of the JCPOA that would prevent Iran from becoming nuclear,” Khanna continued. “There weren’t these incidents during the Obama Administration. We didn’t have protests against our embassies, the killing of American contractors. Americans were safe at that time.”

What?

It’s like Benghazi didn’t happen. Not only was our embassy attacked (or consulate if you want to be technical), but yes, American contractors died under Obama in that instance and others. You’d think that wouldn’t be something a member of the House of Representatives and a guy who served as an ambassador in the Middle East would forget. It was kind of a big story at the time. Even the overall point about “Americans being safe” overseas is nonsense. 2,500 troops died under Obama in Afghanistan alone.

This is the fantasy world the left lives in when it comes to Obama. Every bad thing that happened has been stricken from the record and only this faux utopian image remains of his administration. The rest of us remember just how bad it was at times, whether economically, culturally, or dealing with foreign policy. The Middle East was cratered by Ben Rhodes and company under Obama’s leadership. Syria descended into a hellscape, the Muslim Brotherhood ran rampant during the Arab Spring, and ISIS grew into a murderous power.

But according to Khanna things were golden. It was practically peace in our time.
