I guess Receipt Day is being extended, because Chuck Grassley’s got some and he’s ready to burn the place down.
Following the release of the Trump-Russia investigation IG report, which has been covered extensively here at RedState, many formerly trashed Congressional members have been largely vindicated. Devin Nunes turned out to be right about every major allegation he put forth in his memo last year. Adam Schiff turned out to be lying when he painted a picture of no FISA abuse.
Nunes wasn’t the only one to be proven right, though. Sen. Chuck Grassley also put out a document last year in the form of a criminal referral for Christopher Steele, who wrote the Trump Dossier. At the time, Grassley was much maligned for doing so.
Well, he’s back and he’s not going to let those who went after him forget how wrong they were.
First, the @senjudiciary Ranking Member tried to buttress the now debunked allegations in the Steele dossier. https://t.co/RFvMsgoUMH

CNN commentator @renato_mariotti says the referral, which called into question Christopher Steele’s credibility, wasn’t a “legitimate effort” … hmm…https://t.co/2x42cgsSMC

Evidently, the @FBI did the same when seeking spying authority on an American citizen. Here’s what the IG said (p. 360): pic.twitter.com/zJoaHQsocm

Fellow liberal blogger @MaxBoot thought “the Steele dossier looks more credible all the time.” https://t.co/dGBRrlBpjs

I love the shot at Jennifer Rubin there as a “liberal columnist.”
Eisen thought “Fusion GPS & Steele were careful & responsible” and the Grassley-Graham referral was “not merited”https://t.co/d4XOz0rkEl

Former WSJ and current WaPo reporter Shane Harris went out on a limb to make this claim, which has not borne out: https://t.co/fyIB3q2QTo

And Grassley just keeps going and going. Literally, there’s probably another 20 tweets calling out past statements by journalists. Check it out if you want a good laugh.
In a more perfect world, people who so purposely and maliciously got this wrong would be out of a job. But in the current mainstream media environment, lies and omissions are perfectly acceptable as long as it pushes the chosen narrative. This also shows exactly why outlets like RedState are needed. There should never be any expectation that these “journalists” will tell you the truth if it harms their political interests.
Good for Grassley for not being timid about calling this stuff out and putting these statements out there for the record.
