CBS to Torture Its Audience With a Glowing Mini-Series on a Certain Disgraced Former FBI Director

It’s the biopic you never knew you needed.

CBS has decided it’d be a great idea to create a mini-series centering on the heroic, country-saving actions of James Comey, because reasons or something.

Jeff Daniels himself is just about as insufferable as Comey is. He’s a rabidly liberal Democrat who sees himself as far more important than he actually is because he played a pompous journalist in a failed television series.

Here’s some of the low down on the new show.

Published in April 2018, A Higher Loyalty was an instant bestseller, moving more than 600,000 copies in its first week. The book covers Comey’s 2013-17 tenure as FBI director, his role in the 2016 election — both in the investigation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state and in Russian interference with the election — and his relationship with President Trump, who fired Comey in May 2017.

I’ll give CBS this. They know how to spot a sucker when they see one and #resistance media projects like this are wallet openers. Anyone that wants to write a book just has to include some snipes at Trump and it’s instance cash. Better yet, start a GoFundMe and Democrats will make it rain harder than Bill Clinton in a strip club.

Perhaps a natural disaster could strike first and save us the misery of seeing Jeff Daniels stare at trees and post cryptic messages on Twitter?

The practical aspect of this is that it’s likely to bomb. Who would seriously want to watch this? Four episodes of Comey acting like he’s the last honest man on the planet? I’m sure they’ll overdramatize some aspects to add some flare, but in the end, this basically boils down to a conniving liar leaking some memos. Scintillating, blockbuster stuff.

Of course, you can expect every “journalist” to be glued to their TV. I’d guess The New York Times will host watch parties like it’s the Super Bowl. The rest of us will probably pass.
