Kamala Harris campaign is floundering.

After Tulsi Gabbard rhetorically decapitated her in the second DNC debate, she’s been struggling to regain traction and make up lost ground. So far, she hasn’t shown much comeback power. That doesn’t mean she’s not going to try though and the main shtick she’s settled on is essentially proclaim she’ll operate as a dictator once elected. This apparently really gets the Democratic bases’ juices flowing.

Take CNN’s “Climate Crisis” town hall a few nights ago. In it, Harris made all kinds of wild promises, many of which she’d have no power to implement even if she were elected.

There’s a problem there. Namely, that the President has absolutely nothing to do with eliminating the filibuster. To be sure, she’s not just making a suggestion in the event Democrats retake the Senate. Harris has said on Twitter directly that “I’ll get rid of the filibuster.” How? No one in the mainstream media have bothered to ask her that, nor have their been any fact-checks on the matter. She just says it and that’s that.

Harris wasn’t done though. She then launched into a variety of ways she wants to control your life and destroy the economy.

Harris wants to “have a real priority” at the highest levels of government to change American’s eating habits in order to combat climate change. She says she will change the dietary guidelines to do so and enforce incentives to change behavior. What that would look like exactly, she doesn’t say, but it’s certainly not something within the purview of the presidency. The woman who asked the question seemed eager for her to say she’ll outright ban red meat, which gives you a window into just how authoritarian and crazy the left have become.

Harris on banning plastic straws: "I think we should." But adds that there needs to be better alternatives than the flimsy paper straws.

Banning plastic straws is perhaps one of the stupider ideas that’s caught fire in the last few years. It’s like peeing on a forest fire, never mind the issues of personal freedom at stake. The hysteria over plastic straws holds very little basis in science but it sounds good to environmentalists, so liberals keep supporting it. Surprise, Harris is all in.

She also wants to ban America’s energy source that does the most to cut carbon emissions in order to fight climate change. Yes, that’s a total contradiction, but when something is left wing dogma, it must be adhered to.

That’ll go over swimmingly in natural gas producing states. The anti-fracking movement is no better than the anti-vaxxer movement. It’s pure nonsense with zero basis in scientific reality. Fracking does not cause earthquakes or poison ground water. It provides a cheap, cleaner source of energy that has been the primary driver in carbon emissions reductions. Harris wants to ban it though because she wants to ban everything.

I’m not sure what’s scarier in these clips. Harris pandering, where she’ll seemingly agree with anything to gain support, or the Democrat voters asking these questions in the first place. These people want to control every aspect of your life, all the way down to what you eat and how you can drink your coke. They see hysteria around climate change as a way to garner power and they intend to use it. None of this is really about reducing emissions though. If it were, Harris would be promoting fracking, not wanting to ban it, and she’d be stumping for nuclear power.

No, this all really about control. Nothing more, nothing less.
