FBI Director Kash Patel is no fan of soon-to-be-former Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14), whose political career is its death knell as he faces extremely serious charges of sexual assault and even rape. On Monday, he announced he would be resigning from Congress over the matter, and investigations are going on left and right that could potentially put him behind bars.
Now Patel is weighing in, and let’s just say he’s not feeling the sads over the allegedly perverted congressman’s downfall:
.@EricSwalwell has maintained that none of the allegations against him are true, and now that he’s resigned, we would welcome him to sit down with the FBI and share any information he has.

We also encourage and welcome any person with relevant information to any of these…

The director and Swalwell have a, shall we say, rather unpleasant history together:
Patel introducing potential federal exposure for Swalwell, a seven-term congressman and a leading California gubernatorial candidate before he dropped out of the race, comes after the pair served on opposite sides of the House Intelligence Committee during the height of the probes into whether President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
Patel, formerly a senior aide on the committee, wrote a book titled "Government Gangsters" in which he listed out dozens of members of the so-called deep state. He noted in the book that the list was not exhaustive and omitted "corrupt actors of the first order such as Congressmen Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell."
In September 2025, meanwhile, Patel absolutely obliterated the recent front-runner in the California gubernatorial race, which Swalwell also dropped out of following the tsunami of allegations that started coming out Friday and just wouldn’t stop.
The director was testifying before a House Judiciary Committee hearing called "Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation." Swalwell probably wished he’d skipped work that day, as he was known to do regularly (profanity alert):
🚨🔥FBI Director Kash Patel NAILS Eric Swalwell: “I’m going to borrow your terminology and call bullshit on your entire career in Congress. You’ve been nothing but a DISGRACE to the American people.” TRUTH. And now he’s more of a disgrace than ever! LOCK HIM UP. pic.twitter.com/zZR2541que

I wrote about the episode at the time:
Swalwell asks Patel a question—then immediately interrupts him when he tries to answer. Anyone who has watched similar hearings knows that it's incredibly tiresome to watch bullies like Schiff and Swalwell refuse to let the witnesses talk and instead just harangue them endlessly.
But this is Kash Patel, and he wasn't having it:
"I'm gonna borrow your terminology and call bulls*** on your entire career in Congress. [Crosstalk] It's a disgrace to the American people ... You can reclaim your time all you want... [Descends into chaos]."
Some fireworks indeed. It’s been a rough few days for Swalwell:

The Fat Lady Has Sung: Eric Swalwell Resigns From Congress in Disgrace
The FBI director, like many people, is more than pleased to see Swalwell permanently head for the exits.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
