During Joe Biden’s disastrous presidency, Congress passed two pork-filled bills—the Infrastructure Act and the hilariously named Inflation Reduction Act—that funneled billions upon billions into green energy projects. Then-Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was only too happy to help spend it, throwing massive sums at EV charging stations but actually building only a fraction of what was promised and wasting even more on a rural broadband project that was a spectacular failure.
According to a new report, he also ignored safety concerns and approved wind farms despite numerous red flags:
The Department of Transportation under then-Secretary Pete Buttigieg brushed aside safety concerns to approve dozens of windmill projects near America’s highways and railroads — despite acknowledging potential hazards, The Post has learned.
At least 33 safety recommendations to place wind turbines well clear of the critical infrastructure were overruled in 2023 and 2024, according to a current department official, permitting the projects to be built close enough to possibly interfere with vital radio communications.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is not impressed and is calling on Congress to investigate:
Pete Buttigieg OVERRULED safety recommendations about putting up wind turbines near railroads, highways, and aviation sites- all in the name of his GREEN AGENDA SCAM.

This put lives at risk and is UNACCEPTABLE!

I am calling on Congress to uncover how far this cover-up went. Safety is ALWAYS a #1 PRIORITY for me and @POTUS.

'Pothole Pete' Buttigieg and His Massive Wastes of Taxpayer Money
Massive wind farms now dot the landscape in America, and on a drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, for instance, you’ll see acres of turbines as far as the eye can see—some spinning, some not. They are eyesores, kill innumerable birds and bats, and are ecological nightmares, all in the name of some environmental fantasy. As RedState’s Ward Clark reported, the president is no fan, and he let loose Sunday while in Scotland to discuss transatlantic trade relations:
It's the most expensive form of energy. They're made in China, almost all of them. When they start to rust and rot in eight years, you can't really turn them off. You can't bury them. They won't let you bury the propellers, the props, because they're a certain type of fiber that doesn't go well with the land.
They don't go well with the land—or the sea:

There are numerous examples of Buttigieg plowing forward with his plans despite the safety concerns and his prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives (to the tune of $80 billion) over everything else. Duffy wants answers:
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is launching a department-wide review of any wind farms near transportation infrastructure — and is accusing Buttigieg and former President Joe Biden of having let green energy objectives override safety concerns.
“Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg put climate religion ahead of safety — blatantly ignoring engineers who warned of the danger of constructing wind turbines near railroads and highways,” Duffy said.
“That’s why I’m immediately implementing a higher standard of safety. What the past administration did is a shame, but it’s a pattern for Biden and Buttigieg.”

Giving grants based on identity is exactly what the problem was.
It’s racist and unconstitutional.
