If there’s anyone who should know about tragic assassinations—and this does appear to be an assassination attempt—it’s RFK Jr. His uncle, John F. Kennedy, was gunned down in 1963, and his father, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., was killed in 1968.

Meanwhile, in a move that many consider political, the Biden administration has repeatedly denied RFK requests for Secret Service protection even though he is a presidential candidate:

In a March 28 letter to the Kennedy campaign, Mayorkas determined Secret Service protection for Kennedy is not warranted after consulting with an advisory committee comprised of top congressional leaders and the Senate Sergeant at Arms.

Kennedy's attorney, Aaron Siri, called the department's string of denials "capricious, an abuse of discretion, and clearly politically motivated," in a letter dated March 29, addressed to Mayorkas and posted to X, formerly Twitter by the presidential candidate.

Trump is reportedly fine after this close call—but as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. knows all too well, it could have been much, much worse.
