Secret Service, White House Weigh in on 'Incident' at Trump Rally

I reported earlier about an incident at the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. 

There were what sounded like shots, Trump grabbed his ear, and then ducked behind the podium. Then the Secret Service swooped in and surrounded him. He had blood on his ear and blood on his face. But you could hear him say, "Let me get my shoes," so he was with it enough to do that. He also raised his fist in defiance at what appeared to be a violent act against him.

The Secret Service and the White House have both now weighed in. 

The Secret Service said that the "former president is safe."
