The White House released a combative statement from President Joe Biden Wednesday on the "Baseless House Republican Impeachment Stunt," claiming that "even Republicans in Congress admit [the inquiry] is not supported by facts" and that the American people "need their leaders in Congress to take action on important priorities for the nation and world."

He went on to say that lawmakers urgently needed to focus on important issues like Ukraine, Israel, and yes -- cough, cough -- the porous southern border.
The statement is ludicrous on several levels. First of all, exactly which Republicans in Congress "admit the inquiry is not supported by facts?" Considering every single one of them voted "aye," that dog won't hunt.
Meanwhile, Biden's record on the border is the worst of any president in modern history as the U.S. Customs and Border Protection has recorded over 5.4 million illegal border crossings and at least 1.5 million "gotaways" since Biden entered the Oval.

Under Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, the border has been a humanitarian disaster and a threat to the safety of the nation, yet neither of them seems the slightest bit interested in fixing it. For the president to suddenly recognize its importance now is an obvious and pathetic attempt to deflect.

Biden really has some gall in positing that we should all just ignore the impeachment effort because Ukraine needs more money and the border crisis has grown worse.
Remember, he's the leader of a Democrat party that voted to impeach a president over a nothing-burger phone call, yet despite an ever-growing pile of evidence that the Biden Crime Family is up to its eyeballs in corruption, they continue to claim there's "nothing to see here."

If there is truly nothing to hide, then why did First Son Hunter Biden refuse to appear before Congress Wednesday despite a lawfully issued subpoena requiring him to? As our Nick Arama reported, the president indicated in the past that people who defy congressional subpoenas should be prosecuted by the Justice Department. Will he abandon that "core value" now? (Survey says: Yes!)
The statement concludes, "The American people deserve better." I wholeheartedly agree. We deserve a better president, one who doesn't continue to blame former President Donald Trump for the border crisis despite his not being in office for almost three years. One whose bank account isn't padded with all sorts of questionable deposits from his son and brother which appear to have originated from shady overseas business deals. One who cares about our own country as much as he cares about Ukraine.
The tone of this statement once again shows Joe's nasty side -- he's claiming he wants to work with Republicans even as he's telling them he despises them:
Unfortunately, House Republicans are not joining me. Instead of doing anything to help make Americans’ lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies.
Lies? I have yet to see the Biden team negate a single fact uncovered by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and his team.
This lame statement will likely do little to calm the storm created by the growing evidence that Biden was involved with his son's business dealings -- or at least benefitted financially from them -- despite his repeated assertions that he knew next to nothing about them.
Keep up the good work, House Oversight Committee.
