Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the latest to weigh in on the Durham Report which dropped Monday, and he’s appalled at its shocking findings — including that there was no basis for the FBI to pursue the Russia Collusion investigation. DeSantis says would clean house if he were in charge:

“The Durham Report confirmed what we already knew: weaponized federal agencies manufactured a false conspiracy theory about Trump-Russia collusion,” he wrote Monday night. “It reminds us of the need to clean house at these agencies, as they’ve never been held accountable for this egregious abuse of power.”

It’s interesting that in a way the potential 2024 presidential candidate is sticking up for former President Donald Trump here. Trump has been bashing DeSantis regularly, but DeSantis is smart enough to know that this almost unbelievable level of malfeasance by the Department of Justice is about more than a political race. It’s about the future of this country.

For years now we have been hearing from misinformation machines like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) who famously claimed he had evidence of the so-called collusion. He has never produced it, but he and others throw out the phrase “danger to our democracy” in almost every sentence. (See: Jonathan Turley Demands Answers After Durham Report Exposes Schiff Lie.)

The biggest threat to democracy in my lifetime, Schiff, has been the politicization and weaponization of the DOJ — and now we have proof that all we’ve been saying is true.

DeSantis wasn’t the only prominent Republican to savage the corrupt DOJ and FBI. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) tweeted:

The victim of all this malfeasance — aside from the American people — was Donald Trump himself. As my colleague Jeff Charles reported, he’s furious, pointing out that we were all “scammed”:

WOW! After extensive research, Special Counsel John Durham concludes the FBI never should have launched the Trump-Russia Probe! In other words, the American Public was scammed, just as it is being scammed right now by those who don’t want to see GREATNESS for AMERICA!

That’s only one of his Truth Social posts; there are many more Monday ripping the DOJ and the deep state. In one, he wrote simply, “TREASON!!!” Treason is obviously an inflammatory charge, but unserious Democrats used to use it against him regularly.

But I’m not so sure he’s wrong about this one. The Jan.6 riots were serious, but there was never any real threat to our government. These people — James Comey, Adam Schiff, Christopher Wray, Merrick Garland, Peter Strzok, and Linda Page, just to name a few — were actively manipulating the very gears of our most important institutions in a lust for power. Watergate was a children’s prank compared to this.

It should go down as one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history, but sadly most of our media will work to bury it because they were effectively in on the scam by reporting obviously false information (the thoroughly debunked Steele Dossier) and refusing to report on anything that might exonerate Orange Man Bad. My colleague Nick Arama has already reported tonight that the Associated Press tried to spin the story away before the report was even released.

This one, however, may simply be too big for even the misinformation media to ignore.
