'It Gives Them a Release': Democrat State Senator Suggests Giving Child Sex Dolls to Pedophiles

Lawmakers in Kentucky sat and watched in absolute disbelief as a Democratic state Senator proposed giving child sex dolls to pedophiles.

Speaking in a legislative session on Thursday, State Senator Karen Berg argued that giving pedophiles access to child sex dolls may give them a "release" that would stop them from abusing children further down the line.

She explained her point by referring to 'MAPS,' a term coined by pedophiles in the 1980's, with a view to normalizing their sick desires:

There are what they call 'MAPS,' minor attracted persons and - the limited amount of research that's done on these dolls suggests that they actually, for people who are attracted to minors, that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children.

It actually gives them a release that makes them less likely to go outside of their home and what was interesting is the research did not support the same conclusions for people who were adult attracted using dolls.

However, Berg acknowledged that “research is not very good and it’s not comprehensive,” before then changing tack and claiming that "the research that is out there is conclusive."

Berg later took to the X platform to try and clarify her comments, pointing out that she actually ended up voting for the bill in question:

As a mom and a pyshician I am of course deeply concerned with the harm of pedophilia and I regret if my question in the committee didn't convey that. I voted in favor of House Bill 207 to out law child sex dolls, a stance that aligns with my committment to safeguarding the well-being of youth and holding perpretators accountable.

Berg, who represents the city of Louisville, has form when it comes to making her voice heard in the chamber. In 2022, she delivered an impassioned speech that went viral on social media, in which she accused Republicans of "killing women" through their support for pro-life legislation:

This bill is a medical sham. It does not follow medicine. It does not even purport to listen to medicine. And for each and every one of my colleagues to be so willing to cast an aye vote, when what you are doing is putting your finger; putting your knee; putting your- a gun to women's heads. You are killing women because abortion will continue. Women will continue to have efficacy over their own body, whether or not you make it legal. I vote no and I really, really apologize to the people in Kentucky that we are spending this much time and this much energy when we have families in poverty.

Fortunately for Kentucky, Berg remains very much in the minority. She is one of just seven Democrats in the State Senate, with Republicans holding supermajorities in both legislative chambers.
