After recently declaring that the city was finally "out of room," New York Mayor Eric Adams has found another solution for housing the city's rapidly growing population of illegal immigrants.

The New York television channel Spectrum News reported that Adams was asked about the plan during a town hall meeting on Sunday evening, where angry residents expressed their frustration at illegal aliens being granted shelter at luxury apartment buildings.

The report noted:

At a well-attended public community forum in Harlem Sunday, Mayor Eric Adams not only took questions, but was grilled on several issues, including many on the hot topics of affordable housing and housing for migrants.

The forum was cohosted by Silent Voices United Inc. and the St. Nicholas Houses Resident Association, and it brought out dozens of people, including many who are outraged by a recent decision to house asylum seekers in an unused luxury apartment building at 2201 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd.

According to the building's website, the accommodation offers a variety of exclusive benefits ranging from a swimming pool to indoor parking:

Located at 2201 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard, WA Condominiums is one of the newest condominiums in the storied neighborhood of Central Harlem. This modern luxury building is surrounded by the jazz clubs, theaters, and ethnic cuisine the area is known for. The exterior blends glass, concrete and brick mesh for a cutting-edge appearance, and interiors are elegantly designed to create a warm interior

The WA offers rooms ranging from studios to three bedrooms, and all rooms include granite counter tops, marble bathrooms, thermal controlled heat and air conditioning. Residents will love the elegant lobby and conference room along with the wrap around terrace and roof deck. For the physically active, WA features an indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a rooftop running track. Two levels of indoor parking are available for residents with cars.

The plan to house migrants at the said building comes as thousands of people continue to arrive in New York every month from Texas after entering the country illegally.

The migrants are transported from Texas at the request of Governor Greg Abbott, who has argued that Republican states should not have to bear the brunt of Democrat's support for open borders.

Adams, meanwhile, has repeatedly claimed that the issue of mass migration will "destroy" New York City but has made almost no effort to support the closure of the southern borders.

Just last week, the mayor warned that New York was finally "out of room" and that migrants would soon have to start sleeping rough:

Our hearts are endless, but our resources are not. It's not like New York is not saying we are not a city of immigrants. We are. We have a rich history of immigrants, but we can't take the global problem and it become our problem. That is unfair to New Yorkers, and is unfair to migrants.

...

We're not just saying we're out of room as a soundbite. We're out of room, literally. People are going to be eventually sleeping on the streets.

Fortunately for the illegal migrants, it appears that that appears to have been an empty threat. And until the border is closed, Greg Abbott has promised to keep the buses rolling.
