Few days have affected Americans like September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives that day, doing what they did every day, living their lives. As the 25th anniversary of that horrible day approaches, focus will once again be on those who navigated New York City and the country through those horrible days immediately following 9/11. One of those people is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

REPORTER: “Is there anything you want to say about his contribution to the city?"

On Sunday, it was revealed that Giuliani, 81, had been hospitalized in Florida. On Monday, his business partner, Tom von Essen, stated that Giuliani, often called "America's Mayor," is battling pneumonia. While at an event in the Bronx, current Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked by reporters about Giuliani. He offered the obligatory well wishes for a speedy recovery. But it was what Mamdani didn't say that raised eyebrows.

Mamdani was asked, "Is there anything you want to say about his (Giuliani's) contribution to the city? The fact that he got this city through 9/11?" Mamdani stated:
“I think former Mayor Giuliani is someone that we as New Yorkers know well, and he's been a fixture in our city's politics and public life for so many years, and I know that many New Yorkers are concerned by reports he is in critical condition and so we do keep him and his family in our prayers at this time.”
A fixture? Rudy Giuliani was at the helm during what is arguably the most horrific day in the city's history. Giuliani was himself in danger that day, as an emergency operations command center was set up in 7 World Trade Center, just blocks from the destruction of the twin towers. For a time, no one could contact Giuliani at the command center. In the days that followed, Giuliani was visible to New Yorkers and collaborated on disaster relief with state and federal agencies.
It was Giuliani, Pataki and the Police Chief then who transformed New York.

And today look what Mamdani has done to it…
Zohran Mamdani will be the mayor of New York City on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. While he may attend the necessary memorials of that day on the anniversary and say the necessary things, who might he think the true victims of 9/11 are? Here is a hint: In October of 2025, just before the election, Mamdani stated:
“I want to speak to the memory of my aunt who stopped taking the subway after September 11 because she did not feel safe in her hijab. I want to speak to the Muslim who works for our city whether they teach in our schools or walk the beat for the NYPD.”

It's why he has nothing but the required well-wishes for Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani responded to the attacks that Mamdani's fellow Muslims carried out. The best we can hope for regarding Zohran Mamdani speaking about 9/11 will be an equivalent to "Some people did something."
Mamdhani is a beggar and a grifter and not even in the same league as Mayor Giuliani. Period.
