Illegal immigration continues to be a top issue for voters this election cycle. The never-ending stream of illegal immigrants from not just Mexico and Central America but all over the world continues to transform every American city into a border city. The very real threat of terrorists from the Middle East and other parts of the world entering the country illegally has been virtually ignored by the Biden administration. But the numbers of suspected terror suspects sneaking into the country don't lie, and according to the latest data, the question of whether America will suffer another terrorist attack may no longer be a question of if but when.

The latest data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are out, and they should be alarming to every American. From fiscal years 2021 to 2024, 367 individuals whose names appeared on the Terrorist Screening Database Set (TSDS), commonly known as the terror watchlist, were apprehended at both the southern and northern borders. That increase is up a staggering 2,521 percent from the period between 2017 and 2020, when suspects from the terror watch list caught by CBP numbered just 14. At the southern border alone, CBP apprehensions of suspected terrorists seven months into fiscal year 2024 are at 80 Border patrol encounters. From 2017 to 2020, that number was only 11.

Here are just a few of the "newcomers" Joe Biden and his worthless Homeland Security Secretary have welcomed into the country. Mohammad Kharwin is an Afghan national who illegally crossed the border near San Ysidro, California, in 2023. But almost as soon as he was put on a government monitoring program called Alternatives to Detention, he was taken off and was able to move around the country freely. A year later, it was learned that he had ties to Hezbo-e-Islmi, a US-designated terrorist group. 

A man from Pakistan, who was also caught crossing the border illegally in November 2023, was confirmed to be a match for the terror watch list. He was also put into the Alternatives to Detention Program for a day and released but was then put back into physical detention. 

Then, there is the curiously high number of Chinese nationals entering the country illegally. Again, looking at the seven months of current fiscal year 2024, 27,583 Chinese nationals have entered the country illegally. That number exceeds the entirety of fiscal year 2023, when 24,125 Chinese entered the U.S. In 2022, the number was just 1,987. Border Patrol agents have even been instructed to decrease vetting of Chinese illegal immigrants so they can be processed into the country faster. This has prompted a House Committee to begin looking into the large numbers of Chinese entering the country.

But what may be the most disturbing event took place weeks ago, and the Biden administration is just now getting around to talking about it. On May 3, two Jordanian nationals were apprehended when they attempted to enter the Marine Corps Base at Quantico. The men drove up to the gate, stating they were subcontractors making an Amazon delivery. They were told to proceed to a holding area where more vetting of the men could take place. They drove past the holding area attempting to get on the base and were stopped by "vehicle denier barriers." Both men were turned over to ICE, who confirmed both were Jordanian nationals. ICE Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner would not confirm if either were on the terror watch list or if they were in the country, just that they were in removal proceedings.

Joe Biden and the rest of his feckless open-border policy administration have created a national security threat the likes of which we have never seen, even after September 11, 2001. If even 1 percent of the millions of illegal immigrants who have poured across the southern border mean America ill will, that is a terrorist attack in the making. The only questions are, when will it happen, how bad will it be, and can Joe Biden be gotten out of the White House before it does? With six months to go before the election, America now finds itself playing a very dangerous game of beat-the-clock.
