CBS Suddenly Discovers Timing Is Everything With Epps Interview

It has been two-plus years since January 6, 2021. The media still insists that what took place was an “insurrection.” Many people who were there that day have been arrested and held in jail for those two years for minor offenses like trespassing. Republicans and conservatives have remained consistent, saying that those that broke any laws should be held accountable for their actions.

But the events surrounding that day, and the people involved have been somewhat murky, and perhaps the murkiest of all has been a man named Ray Epps. Epps’ actions on that day have been put in the spotlight by many conservative news outlets. Until Sunday night, mainstream media has not given a rip who Ray Epps is. It took two years, but the media finally decided they were interested in what Ray Epps had to say. But the most glaring question is about the interview itself, why now?

The media has run with the “It was an insurrection!” narrative since January 6, and it has served them well. The committee to “investigate” January 6 was hand-picked by former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, complete with Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, who could be counted on to go along with whatever cherry-picked “evidence” the Democrat-led committee decided was worthy. The Committee, in fact, did speak to Epps, but ultimately decided that what he had to say was “not important enough” to include in a final report. So a Congressional committee deems your testimony not important, but a major news network does? Why now?

The media’s love of persuading viewers to look at the shiny object over there, plus recent revelations may hold a clue. Last week, it was revealed that former acting CIA director Mike Morrell was asked to organize the letter composed by 51 former intelligence officials asserting that information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop appeared to be Russian disinformation. The request was made by current Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in his role as then-foreign affairs advisor to candidate Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. Morrell stated that he organized the letter, which Biden used in a presidential primary, because he wanted to help Biden win.

As if that wasn’t enough in one week, an IRS whistleblower came forward through his attorney, claiming a cover-up of a criminal investigation of Hunter Biden’s taxes. The IRS employee claims to have information that a “senior political appointee” in the Biden administration had given statements that “contradict sworn testimony to Congress.” That senior political employee is Attorney General Merrick Garland. The IRS employee also is claiming that the younger Biden has received “preferential treatment” regarding the investigation.

How far these investigations go and whether anyone will be held accountable remains to be seen. But when you are talking about timing, it certainly isn’t good when Joe Biden plans to announce his reelection campaign this week, for the spotlight to be on his record. What better way to take that spotlight off of Joe Biden’s dismal record, and give the January 6 “insurrection” narrative another shot in the arm?

As expected, CBS allowed Epps to portray himself as a victim, a guy who has had to go into hiding because of death threats against him. People who were at the Capitol that day, as well as many others, have long suspected that Epps was working in some capacity for the federal government. The FBI gave a statement to “60 Minutes,” that merely said, “Ray Epps has never been an FBI source or an FBI employee.” But trotting out Epps helps the portrayal of those who allege that he was an embedded government informant, as a rabid bunch of crazy right-wing MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporters.

Good timing right before an incompetent but incumbent president announces his reelection campaign. How will you know things are really bad for Democrats and Joe Biden? When CBS promotes their exclusive interview with Jacob Chansley, a.k.a., the QAnon Shaman.
