Newsom Drops Loathsome Nastygram Clip in Response to Cute Posts by Team Trump/GOP for Valentine's Day

Team Trump and other Republicans decided to use Valentine's Day as an excuse to have a lighthearted time of things on social media, with simple parodies of classic holiday greeting cards to complex videos with policy messaging included within their love letter-esque form. We'll start with the least engaging posts first, as well-meaning and good-natured in spirit as they might be.

Republicans on the House Oversight Committee reminded everyone with their missive for the holiday that former President Joe Biden (or someone at the White House acting on his behalf) used that autopen a little too often:

Cabinet-level departments and agencies, though, were the main ones to share cute posts for Saint Valentine's Day.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had this group of pun-filled cards:

Then the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) shared this lovely video message on self-deporting... so people can spend their Valentine's Day with their loved ones, naturally:

Readers may have already caught on to what the Trump folks are sharing. My colleague Rusty Weiss collected the Army's "valentine," while involved sharing love advice for possibly wayward troops or naive new recruits a day early on Feb. 13. "Be prepared," as the old Boy Scouts motto used to go, right, fellas?

And by the by, major SAVE America Act supporter/Trump administration ally on protecting Christians from genocide in Nigeria, rap star Nicki Minaj had this offering in patriotic red-white-and-blue, and pink for the Barbz (her fans):

Now what is the response from the comms shop for California Dem Gov. Gavin Newsom, which heretofore has shown a lack of class and, well, creative flair since it began its marathon of nonsense attacks on Republicans and the White House/Pres. Trump? Did they eschew a political barb this time, and instead send out a positive, loving message directed at the citizens of the Golden State? Not even close, I hate to relay to you.

No, instead we see the people working for Newsom sent out a nastygram in the form of a clip parodying the WH's sweet posts.

Juvenile, for sure, but more importantly, it is dishonest. I'll break it down, piece by miserable piece. Let's start with the already debunked "report" that there were massive numbers of people booing the U.S. delegation at the Milan Cortina Olympics, including Vice President JD Vance.

Then there's the hit on Sec. Kennedy, who is helping to strengthen our nation's use of vaccines by mandating more reviews and testing before they are given to Americans. Next, there's a weak attack on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. I'd love to see Newsom do half of the physical fitness regime the HHS and the DoW have put out to aid in rebuilding our country's health. It would be a sad sight.

Of course, what Dem attack on the Trump administration would be complete without someone screaming nonsensically at Attorney General Pam Bondi? To what purpose? Lastly, they go in for the kill with screenshots of Trump allegedly sleeping. Well, did they catch Rep. Jerry Nadler (NY-12) napping while allegedly working for his constituents this week? Crickets, and we know it's because they are Democrats, too. Could the Left be any more loathsome if they tried?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) and a whole host of congressional Dems looking to possibly take a swing at running for POTUS in 2028 attended this week's Munich Security Conference in Germany...and one of the other people, unsurprisingly, was Gov. Hair Gel himself.

I wrote in the wee hours of Valentine's Day morning about Gavin Newsom's dishonest/bordering on disrespectful remarks about the president and the U.S., while attending the opening day of the event on Friday.
