You hate to see it happen. A comedian you once found funny, devolving into the shadow of a sane man, all over petty politics. But like any train wreck about to happen, you can’t look away.

Tonight, Jim Gaffigan was that comedian. And he’s completely lost his mind over the speech President Donald Trump gave to accept the Republican nomination at the finale of the 2020 RNC. Not counting his comments on other people’s tweets, Gaffigan racked up a massive 18 tweets Thursday night. I won’t give you every tweet in the unhinged rant (you can find that on his timeline)… but here’s a sampling, if you will. (Hat tip to my colleague Joe Cunningham, by the way.)

It started simply enough, with the comedian mourning the death of Truth:

Then it started to ramp up:

Sadly, he seems to have a fixation on former Arizona GOP senator (and certified Never Trumper) Jeff Flake:

Just before he hung it up for the night, the comedian apparently couldn’t help adding this riposte to the Federalist writer Chad Felix Greene:
