Biden's a New Ball Game: Army Chaplain is Under Investigation After Calling Transgenders 'Mentally Unfit' to Serve

A chaplain’s in trouble.

Potentially.

As noted by The Daily Wire, a religious cleric serving in the United States Army is getting probed for something he recently posted to Facebook.

According to NBC News, Maj. Andrew Calvert went onto a military newspaper’s social media page to ask a question.

His query:

“How is rejecting reality (biology) not evidence that a person is mentally unfit (ill), and thus making that person unqualified to serve?”

The 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade member wasn’t done.

He drew a parallel to a certain group of global deniers:

“There is little difference [in] this than over those who believe and argue for a ‘flat earth’ despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.”

It’s a question of health:

“The motivation is different, but the argument is the same. This person is a MedBoard for Mental Wellness waiting to happen. What a waste of military resources and funding!”

His proposition hasn’t been taken lightly.

In fact, some believe it’s the — per his FB profile — “Christian, Husband, Father, Pastor” who’s unfit to serve:

In the aftermath, the Security Force Assistance Command’s issued a statement.

Per the Command, it’s important to think before you type.

The organization made clear on Twitter that it’s “aware of the comments posted to the Army Times Facebook in regard to the ban being removed on transgender service members.”

Meanwhile, under Biden, transgenderism had better be getting a crew cut; it’s set to get drafted.

As I covered on the 23rd, Lloyd J. Austin recently talked of making history.

America’s first black Secretary of Defense said he’s all for it:

“If you’re fit and you’re qualified to serve and you can maintain the standards, you should be allowed to serve and you can expect that I will support that throughout.”

Of course, President Trump wasn’t precisely of the same mind.

From his 2017 tweet thread:

“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow … Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming … victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”

That was then, this is now.

And Chaplain Andrew’s remarks aren’t in keeping with many in charge.

More from SFAC:

“The Security Force Assistance Command Enterprise fully supports the Commander-in-Chief, Secretary of Defense and all DoD policies. The United States Army has a strict standard against any form of discrimination based on gender identity.”

The Wire noted Andrew’s timing:

Calvert made his comments on the same day that President Joe Biden repealed a Trump-era executive order that banned transgender people from serving in the military in most cases. The new order “immediately prohibits involuntary separations, discharges, and denials of reenlistment or continuation of service” on the basis of gender identity.

Apropos, SFAC said Andrew’s gonna get checked out:

“This incident is under investigation.”

These aren’t the Armed Forces of WWII.

And this isn’t the American nation of 1941.

Times are changing, and that’s from the bottom to the top — from the protected place of preschool to the danger zone of violent war.

It’s a new era.

Those who can’t fall in line may quickly fall out of favor.
