It's Hilariously Awesome and You Have to See It: A Robber Hits a Kentucky Restaurant Where the Only Two Customers Are Both Armed (Video)

On Saturday night, a masked thief entered a restaurant in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and got more than he bargained for.

According to police, 30-year-old Justin Carter bounded onto the scene at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers for a bit of the ol’ armed robbery.

The goob pointed his pistol at the cashier and demanded some cold hard cash.

But his plan got iced.

At the time, there were only two customers in the joint — Chase McKeown and his wife, Nicole.

The married couple of six months were enjoying a finger-lickin’ date night ’til Justin busted in.

Nicole recalled to Louisville’s WRDB, “I think we kind of both saw him at the same time.”

A mask wasn’t necessarily a sinister sign — it’s flu season.

But things up at the counter were transpiring fishily:

“I looked at him and said, ‘That’s kind of odd.'”

The pair was only there ’cause of something they’d heard at the Lord’s house:

“At our church, we’ve been focusing on marriage,” Chase McKeown said, adding that his church emphasizes having a “date night” once a week. Nicole said the decision to eat there was a no-brainer, as it was the first place they ate after their wedding.

Thanks to all that, Justin didn’t have a prayer.

You see, both Chase and Nicole are officers with the Elizabethtown Police Department.

Justin pulled out his gun…and then so did Chase. And so did Nicole.

Chase wasted no time zooming toward the foiled felon.

Same for Nicole.

The video is hilarious.

Mr. McKeown immediately lived up to his name.

And Nicole wasn’t about to be left behind:

Nicole said her husband Chase was going to take Carter on by himself, so he handed her his cell phone and told her to call 911 – but she wasn’t about to sit on the sidelines.

“No — I’m gonna help my husband!” she said.

Justin dropped his weapon as he ran out the door.

Chase and Nicole held him at gunpoint a few blocks from their chicken fingers ’til some on-duty colleagues could take the baton.

Justin’s pleaded not guilty to robbery, receipt of stolen property, and being a felon in possession of a gun.

Good luck with that, Video Boy.

The solution to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

In a rare instance, cops were actually on the scene to stop the violence in Kentucky.

Because, as explained by Det. Dan Mason of the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Robbery Unit:

“We are police officers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on or off duty.”

A rep for the restaurant thanked the locked-and-loaded lovebirds:

“We are extremely blessed that they chose to dine with us. It’s because of good people like Chase and Nicole who give us good hope for tomorrow…we’ll never be able to thank them enough.”

And despite a traumatic experience, the chicken-lovin’ couple will be back.

Because they aren’t what they eat.
