On Tuesday, Republican Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso slammed 2020 hopeful Elizabeth Warren for her recent Medicare for All shenanigans, warning that her characterization of the proposal is a far cry from how it’d all play out in the real world.

Speaking to reporters during a press briefing — as relayed by The Daily Wire — he colorfully called the senator’s plan a lyin’ fantasy:

“Elizabeth Warren, this past weekend, came out with her health care plan and it is not surprising that it took so long for her to come out with it because it is dishonest and it is from fantasy land.”

He also claimed she’d knock nearly 200 million people off their current health insurance. And a couple million onto their butts:

“She wants a complete takeover, by government, of American health care and if you are one of the 180 million Americans who gets your health insurance through work, you will lose it. And you will be forced on your one-size-fits-all health care government-run plan. And under this plan, two million Americans will lose their jobs.”

Elizabeth’s single-payer scheme — which The New Yorker called “simultaneously clever and risky” —  comes at a reported cost of $52 trillion. That includes $20 trillion in new spending.

But here’s the greatness: She’s insisted the middle class wouldn’t have to spend a dime — it’d all come courtesy of the nation’s billionaires.

As noted by RedState’s Sister Toldjah Tuesday morning, Donald Trump Jr. had somethin’ to say about that:

“Her plan costs $52,000,000,000,000 and there are about 600 billionaires in the US. If you took $1 Billion from each of them you cover about 1% of her plan.”

John’s similarly unimpressed, and he thinks a lot of Dems are, too:

“When you take a look at the costs and the taxes, they are so astronomical that now the Democrats are pushing the panic button. In terms of the costs, it is going to cost more over the next 10 years than we were planning to spend on Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid combined.”

And by the way — how much is $52 trillion?

Here’s Fox News with a bit of perspective:

• Total annual U.S. corporate profits: $2.08 trillion
• Combined net worth of the world’s 2,153 billionaires: $8.7 trillion
• Total U.S. national debt: $22.9 trillion
• Total value of the U.S. stock market: $32.3 trillion
• Total value of all U.S. homes: $33.3 trillion
• Total spending on health care in the United States from 1960 to 2017: $59.6 trillion
• How much revenue (taxes) the U.S. government has received in its history: $76.7 trillion
• Total world combined GDP: $86.6 trillion

Translation: It’s a lot.

And, as John pointed out, Elizabeth’s Medicare ideas are just part of her pricey plannin’:

“[I]n terms of the taxes, the taxes she is proposing are on top of the taxes she’s already proposed to pay for her universal childcare, and for giving back money and forgiving college debt. And then on top of this, she wants to unleash the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service, to crack down on all American taxpayers.”

Dang it — if not for that rotten reality of all goods and services having a cost, a whole lot of left-wing programs would be fantastic. Personally, I’d immediately go for Krispy Kreme for All and 100-inch Flatscreens for All.

But until we can find the abacus that makes Elizabeth’s new math work out, it sounds like we may wanna hold off.
