I have read about writers getting writer’s block. Before I started regularly writing diaries at RedState, I never considered writing to be my main tool of communication and could not identify with the concept of getting it. Now, since I’ve made a quasi-commitment to keeping an open thread available at RedState, it has happened to me numerous times.

Sometimes I chock it up to boredom and slow news days. Other times, I take it personal and think it has more to do with things going on with me personally. Maybe it’s kind of like gardening. Plants have to be pruned regularly to produce bigger and better fruit. And they’re pretty bare — bleak might be an even better description — right after pruning.

What do you guys think? And if you could write about anything you wanted to write about, what would it be?
