The Watercooler ~ To Impeach or Not to Impeach

The recklessness of President Obama’s presidency is finally reaching critical mass and leave it to Sarah Palin to proclaim to the nation that it is time to impeach the man. Starting with what Sarah sees as Obama’s deliberate attempts to flood the nation with illegal immigrants, she then lists all the reasons he deserves impeachment concluding with this:

It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.

The many impeachable offenses of Barack Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this he’s not impeachable, then no one is.

We’ll see where this leads. Most conservatives would agree with Palin. Obama has committed many impeachable offenses. Where we part ways is whether starting impeachment proceedings would be a stupid, counterproductive move politically. That is pretty much my position. And please, spare me the lectures on why it should be done — on principle — no matter the political fallout.

But I’m glad Sarah’s doing this. If enough pressure is exerted, it will force all the cowards in the Republican Party to show their hands and take a stand on why they won’t go there. But more importantly, maybe Sarah is our only hope to rally the People to rise up and demand Obama’s resignation. That would be more effective than any move by any politician at this point.

Speaking of we the people, on a positive note, we just gained a victory locally when our city council voted to axe the red light camera program. Despised by everyone except those who really think a camera will stop the reckless from being reckless, the people won by complaining incessantly and loudly for the eight years the program has been in place. Nice.

The Watercooler is always an open thread.
