Luxury Travel, Six-Figure Pay: Dems’ Fake Blue-Collar Act

Money, money, money. (Credit: Blogging Guide/Unsplash)

Today's Democrat Party is largely a party of two extremes: The dependency class and urban elites. There seem to be very few of what my father used to describe himself as—that being Truman Democrats; the Democrats used to be the party of blue-collar workers, labor union types, and so on. Those days are gone now, but Democratic candidates are still trying to burnish their blue-collar reputations and credibility.

There's just one problem with their efforts. It's all horse squeeze. Here are a couple of examples:

In New Jersey, for example, Democratic Party candidate Rebecca Bennett has pitched herself as a parent with firsthand understanding of the "rising costs and economic uncertainty" facing American families, but financial records show she collected a combined salary of nearly $250,000 in 2024 and holds an extensive investment portfolio with assets potentially worth nearly $1.8 million and no reportable liabilities.

In New Mexico, Rep. Gabe Vasquez, D-N.M., has said he "never had the luxury of financial wealth," argued voters are drawn to candidates who do not "come from wealth," and described his mother as working long hours in Mexico’s "maquiladora industry" to make ends meet. But records reviewed by Fox News Digital show his mother held corporate finance roles at GE, including as a finance manager and comptroller in Mexico and later as a senior finance analyst in Indiana, while social media screenshots shared with Fox News Digital show repeated European travel, luxury shopping and other upscale family photos.

Now, there's nothing wrong with having a considerable income and net worth. After all, we don't want someone straight out of a Skid Row homeless encampment in the House of Representatives or the Senate. We want people with a certain level of smarts and ability. No, it's the hypocrisy here that galls.

Look, nobody would care if these people were just honest about their backgrounds. Nobody expects a penniless lifelong marginal to run a successful political campaign. Anyone with enough brains to pound sand knows that anyone running for office has to have some personal resources to get their campaign started; nobody ever gained any public notice while cashing in Green Stamps.

The problem Democrats have here is that they appear to be losing this appeal to the blue-collar workers of America, and the even bigger problem is that they don't seem to care. Oh, they pay some lip service to that demographic, but most of the young Democrat candidates, in particular the "democratic socialists" (commies) are aiming to appeal to the same kinds of people who form the foot soldiers in every socialist takeover in history: Young far-left skulls full of mush from well-to-do backgrounds; trust-fund kiddies, (insert horse squeeze here) Studies Majors, and just generally ill-informed but very vocal nitwits, halfwits, dimwits and nincompoops.

One Republican strategist said:

"Only a rich liberal can afford to be a socialist in this day and age," Matt Gorman, chief communications officer at Targeted Victory, a Republican communications firm, told Fox News Digital.

"These Democrats represent a trend of the downwardly mobile who make up the base of the Democratic Party. They have the highest percentage of secondary degrees, yet the lowest income. These candidates don't mind walking around with their hands out expecting more of your money, while they hoard their own."

Well, that's certainly nothing new; Democrats have been doing that since the Carter administration.

Then, of course, there's the big winner in the Hypocrite Sweepstakes: The godfather of the "democratic socialists", the daffy old Bolshevik from Vermont, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) with his multiple lakefront dachas and his $2-3 million net worth, who has never done an honest day's work in his life. Note that this was the same guy who used to rant on about taxing millionaires, until he became one, at which point he had to switch his fevered emissions to focus on billionaires.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Bernie Sanders. And most of the current Democrat Party.

Editor's Note: The Democrat Party has been infected by socialism, and it's spreading FAST. Democrats are claiming there's nothing to worry about, but we know the truth.
