China is not a friendly nation, as I've been saying and writing for years. China may be one of the United States' greatest trade partners. It may be a major supplier of raw materials to the United States, including strategic minerals and rare earths, although the Trump administration is working to reduce that risk by developing domestic supplies. But China is not our friend, and by "China" we can substitute "the Chinese Communist Party" or CCP, as very little goes on in China without the CCP's approval.
On Thursday night, this once more became abundantly clear, as a portion of President Trump's speech on election integrity was devoted to revealing just how far China has penetrated not only our nation's voting records but possibly other systems as well. All in all, the personal data of over 200,000,000 Americans has been stolen by China.
That is over half of the population of the United States of America. Over half.
The Federalist's Benjamin Weingarten has a good summary of the kind of information taken.
This appears to be a summary of voter records hacked by China — note the personal information pilfered pic.twitter.com/vS1g6YJWhB

Earlier on Friday, my colleague Rusty Weiss wrote about the extent of this problem:

Rusty writes:
Newly available declassified documents and recent statements from President Trump are shining a light on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) theft of personal data belonging to a staggering 220 million American voters.
According to investigative journalist Catherine Herridge, that massive haul — which can be combined with other hacked records such as 2015 security clearance applications and health data—creates serious risks for voter registration fraud, identity theft, and espionage recruitment.
So, what was taken, and what are the risks?
One of the documents released (all the documents declassified and released may be downloaded here) reveals at least some of what was compromised, and to call it alarming is to indulge in the grossest of understatements:
- In 2016: 204,822,241 records of "Unspecified U.S. voter data," including names, ages, phone numbers, and addresses.
- In 2017: 1,746,069 records of "Named U.S. state 1 voter database," including voter IDs, full names, current addresses, previous addresses, birth dates, gender, and phone numbers.
- Also in 2017: 7,893,248 records of "Named U.S. state 2 voter database," including voter IDs, full names, current addresses, former addresses, birth dates, gender, and citizenship information.
It wasn't all voter information. Also listed are 28 million records taken from an "Unspecified U.S. citizen medical database, including social security numbers and other information redacted from the record. Records were also stolen from, alarmingly, a "Named U.S. biogenetics group," a "Named U.S. school," along with business services companies, web services companies, and even a "named U.S. cyber-security company."
This is the information that legacy media outlets, including CBS, NBC, and CNN, didn't think was important enough to air.
Here's the thing: These voter records are only from 18 states, raising some disturbing questions about the other 32.
So, what could China do with this data? Interfering with our elections may only be one part of the picture. Could China set up a sort of economic denial-of-service attack, with thousands - or millions - of fake credit applications, of credit inquiries? Could they bombard American businesses with fake inquiries and account setups?
China is not a friendly nation. The only possible thing more alarming than the extent to which China has penetrated American voter records and business records is the lackadaisical attitude of Democrats and the legacy media (but I repeat myself) are taking about the whole thing.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
