On Saturday, we learned that Iran did, indeed, have a "very specific" plot to assassinate President Donald Trump.
U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, confirms to @aishahhasnie “Israeli intelligence tipped off our side—the President and our officials—that there was a very specific plot that was designed to take out President Trump.”

Speaking on Fox News to White House Correspondent Aishah Hasnie, the United States ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, stated that Israel learned of the plot and warned the United States.

Here's that conversation:
Aishah Hasnie: "Is there a way to come to a deal with a country, and its leaders, if they want to kill our president?"
Ambassador Huckabee: It's kind of hard, isn't it? They've been very explicit in saying it. This week, Israeli intelligence tipped off our side, the president, and our officials that there was a very specific plot that was designed to take out President Trump. This is pretty serious. You can't just make these kinds of claims. I think it's important for Americans to understand that what the Iranians have been saying and doing is nothing that they haven't been doing for 47 years. This is a long-standing death to America chant that they've had. They really haven't changed. I hope they will. I'd love to believe they could. If anyone, and I mean anyone, could get them to a place of making a change about their evil behavior, it's President Trump.
We've been covering the possibility of such an attempt over the last few days, including on Saturday morning.

This announcement from Ambassador Huckabee, though, would seem to represent something more concrete than the usual shouts of "Death to America." Israeli intelligence, presumably the Mossad, announced the uncovering of what the ambassador describes as a "very specific plot." That means details were communicated, details that would allow the United States to take whatever measures were necessary to make sure the president was safe, such as changing aircraft at the last moment:

Bear in mind also that Israel's communication of those details may well post the danger of burning an asset they presumably have in Iran, who was the source of the information. Now, the information may not have come from a human source; it could have been a signal intercept or some such other means. In any case, Israel is exposing some capability by disclosing what they had learned, which would indicate that Israel thought the threat serious.
Up to now, Iran's gaseous emissions on the topic were largely dismissed as the typical bloviating of the Islamic Republic. This revelation may indicate that it's rather more than that. And here's the thing: Whoever is left in Iran's civil and military leadership has to know that even attempting this would mean the utter ruin of their country. That in itself would seem to indicate some level of desperation; desperate men aren't exactly known for rational acts, and these people were deeply and fundamentally irrational already.
This is a developing story. We'll be bringing you updates as events warrant.
Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
