The signs of the Iranian theocracy coming apart are growing day by day. As American and Israeli aviators are proving once more that there is no problem that cannot be resolved by a suitable application of high explosives, the old regime is lashing out in every direction, seemingly determined to make enemies of all their neighbors as they go down swinging. That's fine; they can go down swinging, just as long as they go down.
We might remember that on the very first day of Operation Epic Fury/Roaring Lion, Iran's old Supreme Leader, the desiccated goblin Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was reduced to room temperature. Not long ago, his son, the supposed hard-liner Mojtaba Khamenei, was named Supreme Leader in the old man's stead.
Now we learn from an expert on the regime that the new goblin is "misfunctioning," and may not actually be in control of anything.
Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is little more than an "empty entity" who is not at the helm of the regime, according to Israeli national security sources.
The son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a targeted Israeli strike on Feb. 28, is also linked to what officials describe as a "misfunctioning" regime.
"The new leader is an empty entity," Kobi Michael, a defense analyst at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute, told Fox News Digital.
"Mojtaba Khamenei does not appear in public, but we also have reliable indications that he does not control or lead the regime or what has been left of the regime.
"The current Iranian leadership is broken, confused and is almost misfunctioning."
That's good news.

There are indications that Mojtaba Khamenei may have been badly injured in the same Day One raid that reduced his father to room temperature. Khamenei the Younger has been conspicuous in his absence, which begs the question as to whether he is still breathing, or if he is currently looking at daisies from the wrong side. Whatever is left of Iran's Baghdad Bob-like propaganda apparatus isn't giving out any clues, but it seems likely that if this guy were still capable of being propped up in front of a camera and muttering a few lines from a teleprompter, they would have done so by now.
It seems likely, in fact, that nobody's really in charge in Iran anymore. At least, not any one person, or maybe even any one group of people. We have indications of some regime figures legging it out of the country. Much of the regime appears to have left Tehran for Mashhad, a town up near the Afghan border. That's making for a longer flight for American and Israeli aircraft, but we would appear to have more than ample in-flight refuelling capability in the area.
My guess is that the regime has already come apart. The civil government, since Iran ever had one, has bugged out. There are even rumors that Iranian regime figures have been seen deplaning in Canada. What's left in the country is in Mashhad, where they can hop across into Afghanistan, assuming the Taliban will have anything to do with them. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seems to still have control of what weapons systems have not been reduced to wreckage, and the number of those systems still at hand is reduced every day, with every new delivery of American and Israeli ordnance.
This can't go on much longer. The situation at this point seems to be reduced to the level of a rat hunt, as we seek out the remaining missile launchers and drones - and the people who are operating them. The theocratic Iranian regime appears to be poised on the edge of a cliff. Now all that remains is to push them off. As for Mojtaba Khamenei, if he is still converting oxygen to CO2, he'll be found eventually.
