This Is What We Dodged: UK Now to Increase 'Refugee' Numbers by a Third

It's not easy or fun to watch the nation that was once one of the staunchest bastions of Western Civilization come apart. I write, of course, of the United Kingdom, the once-Great Britain, whose government has now decided to continue to ramp up the number of Third World "asylum seekers" they will allow to invade their nation.

The UK's government is now doing what Napoleon and Hitler never managed: carrying out a successful invasion of the British Isles.

The number of people granted asylum by the Home Office jumped by more than a third last year.

Official figures showed nearly 55,000 migrants were handed refugee status or another type of permission to stay in Britain in the year to December.

It was up 35 per cent on the previous 12 months but 14 per cent below the peak seen in 2023.

14 percent below the peak? That's not nearly as much of a brag as the British government thinks it is. The numbers are still alarming:

Eritreans made up the largest group with just under 8,700 successful asylum claims, followed by Sudanese with 7,000 and Iranians with 6,900.

The figures only cover those granted asylum by the Home Office at the initial decision stage, and do not include those who successfully appeal against a refusal in the immigration courts which had a backlog of 70,000 cases at the last count.

There were 46,497 illegal arrivals into the country in 2025, up seven per cent on the previous year.

It included 41,472 by small boat across the Channel - a figure which was already known from daily updates published by the Home Office - with the rest coming by 'clandestine' routes such as stowing away in the backs of lorries. 

So my question here is this: Why is Britain not simply turning these people around and sending them back?

This is, at best, a fuzzy-headed policy. At worst - and I think we can anticipate the worst - it's self-destructive. We are watching Britain commit national suicide. There are some British politicians who are trying to stand in front of this thing and yell, "Stop!" Nigel Farage and his Reform Party, for example, and Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain Party; Lowe's campaign is using a rather clever slogan, "Aim High, Vote Lowe." But it's not looking good for Britain.

Now, I told you that so I could tell you this: This is precisely the kind of self-destructive policies that our own Democrats want to implement here. This is precisely what the Biden administration, whoever was actually pulling befuddled old Joe's strings, was doing. If Kamala Harris had somehow won the 2024 election, she would be pouring aviation-grade gasoline on that fire, right now.

This is what Democrats want. This is what the left wants. This is why they are fighting deportation efforts at every turn. This is why they argue bitterly against deporting even hardened criminals. This is why their useful idiots interfere with DHS, Border Patrol, and ICE agents who are trying to do their jobs. This is why Democrat politicians refuse to countenance even the mildest immigration enforcement or election security measures. Look at Britain, because that's what the left wants here.

This isn't about compassion. It's about fomenting an invasion.
