AG Bondi Announces Shutdown of Anti-ICE Social Media Page - but How Many More Are There?

Peace may well have come to the Middle East, but some things right here in the United States are still causing turmoil. The anti-ICE, anti-border-control, open borders left are still indulging in threats and intimidation against federal and, yes, local law enforcement. What's more, they are taking to social media to coordinate their efforts and to identify and threaten ICE officers and other federal officials involved in President Trump's immigration crackdown.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that one social media outlet, Facebook, had taken down a group page that was being used to dox ICE agents.

The post continues:

The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

Here's the thing: While this is worth doing, these nuts will just have another page up within the hour. This is like swatting flies with an icepick. Activist and independent journalist Andy Ngo remarks:

Mr. Ngo is correct. How many more of these groups are there already? This one was on Facebook, but any of these people with enough internet savvy to set up a discussion board or even a private web page can easily bypass the big social media sites, like Facebook, LinkedIn, or any of the various other platforms - Myspace is still even a thing, and talk about flying under the radar!

It's hard to see this as anything but an attempt to intimidate and/or threaten in the cause of a political agenda: e.g., domestic terrorism. The people who put up, maintain, and join these anti-ICE doxing groups can surely be identified. How many of them have been identified? Arrested? Indicted? Prosecuted? That number would appear to be near zero. And this appears to be a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 119 - Protection of individuals performing certain official duties:

(a) In General.—Whoever knowingly makes restricted personal information about a covered person, or a member of the immediate family of that covered person, publicly available—

(1) with the intent to threaten, intimidate, or incite the commission of a crime of violence against that covered person, or a member of the immediate family of that covered person; or

(2) with the intent and knowledge that the restricted personal information will be used to threaten, intimidate, or facilitate the commission of a crime of violence against that covered person, or a member of the immediate family of that covered person,

shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.

This will continue until some ringleaders are identified, arrested, and prosecuted. The consequences of this have to be enough to deter the behavior. Clearly, now, they aren't, and these kinds of "groups" will continue until some of the organizers are prosecuted and jailed, pour encourager les autres.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
