On Monday, we were treated to the spectacle of someone named Selena Gomez, who evidently is a celebrity of some sort or another, weeping uncontrollably over the Trump administration's and border czar Tom "The Hammer" Homan's efforts to round up and either jail or repatriate illegal aliens that don't belong here. As leftists are wont to do, Miss Gomez was weeping for "the children."
We were also treated to the delightful spectacle of the border czar telling Miss Gomez precisely what she could do with her crocodile tears. Mr. Homan predicted that this would happen, and he was right.

"But they won't talk about 340,000 children they failed to take care of..."
Tom Homan explains why he is leading the deportation of criminal aliens and what he really cares about.pic.twitter.com/6u4Nvm7tfG
The Hammer is set on doing his job, and he doesn't much care what weeping celebrities might think, which is yet another reason he is perfectly suited for this task.

It's interesting, though, to take a look at some of the goblins that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is actually rounding up. Fortunately for us, The Daily Wire, in a revealing piece on Wednesday, is providing some examples.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) caught numerous criminal illegal aliens in their Sunday raids, a rogue’s gallery that includes cartel members, a drug and weapons trafficker, and a man charged with possession of child pornography.
The raids resulted in 613 criminal arrests, eight repatriations, 67 arrests of members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, and 12 other gang arrests, a senior official in the Trump administration revealed to The Daily Wire.
Agents also lodged 853 detainer requests while 6,872 Homeland Security Investigation agents and Enforcement and Removal Operations agents were working to enforce federal immigration law. The raids came after President Donald Trump directed the Department of Homeland Security and Border Czar Tom Homan to launch the largest mass deportation operation in American history, with an initial focus on violent criminals.
Here are some of the goblins caught:
ICE Omaha. Immigration enforcement agents in Oklahoma captured an unnamed member of Tren de Aragua who had previously spent seven years in a Venezuelan prison for robbery, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm, and unlawfully discharging a firearm.
Unnamed? Presumably, he had no ID, which wouldn't prevent him from voting in California. But he does have a bad record, and if he obtained a firearm in Venezuela, we can be certain he probably obtained one here, as well. This guy is a bad, bad guy. Is Selena Gomez shedding any tears for him?
ICE Houston. Agents captured an illegal alien from El Salvador who is a member of the MS-13 cartel. The man has an extensive criminal background in his home country, where he was found to have engaged in acts of terrorism, aggravated armed robbery, and involvement in illegal groups.
Again, no name, but MS-13, we might note, is a particularly notorious gang, which has been terrorizing, among other places, Long Island, New York. This is a gang that uses rape and murder as initiation rites, and there's no place for any of these people here. Is Selena Gomez shedding any tears for him?
But wait! There's more!
ICE St. Paul. Immigration enforcement agents in Minnesota caught Mexican national Octavio Juarez-Bonilla, who was convicted of possessing pornographic material of a minor.
So, an illegal alien and a pedophile. If he possessed pornographic material of a minor, it's a safe bet he has other, more physical designs on minors. There is no place, again, for this guy here. Is Selena Gomez shedding any tears for him?
ICE Atlanta. An illegal alien and Senegalese national was captured by immigration enforcement agents at the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in a secure area. The illegal alien was working for National Aviation Services as a garbage collector and had first been encountered by Border Patrol agents in Yuma, Arizona in 2022 under the Biden administration.
Wait, he was working? For National Aviation Services, where he presumably had access to commercial aircraft? We note as well that he was "encountered" by Border Patrol agents and released into the country under the Biden administration's non-enforcement of the border, having somehow made it to the southern border from Senegal--which in case anyone isn't aware, is in Africa. How did he get across the Atlantic? Why is he working with an aviation services company? Is Selena Gomez shedding any tears for him?
These are only a few examples. As of this writing, ICE has captured thousands of these goblins; in the first week of the Trump administration's crackdown, they have reportedly made 5,500 arrests and 4,300 detainers on people who are in the country illegally. That's pretty good for the first week. It's a safe bet that the numbers will continue to grow, and in the doing, our city streets will be safer. Americans will be safer. And we are once more a nation of laws.
ICE has announced arrests of alleged criminals in cities around the country, including Houston, Chicago and Atlanta.
- A 19-year-old Salvadoran national and member of the MS-13 foreign terrorist organization was arrested in Baltimore on weapons charges.
- A Bolivian illegal national convicted of driving while intoxicated was arrested in Washington, D.C.
- A Honduran illegal immigrant charged with sex crimes, assault and battery, and armed robbery was taken in by ICE agents in Boston.
ICE is on pace for its highest number of daily arrests on record.
This is what Donald Trump campaigned on. This is what the president promised. This is what he sent Tom "The Hammer" Homan out to do, and he's doing it. And he's just gotten started. ICE is rounding up illegal aliens, and they are being jailed pending trial - or repatriated back to where they rightfully belong because they don't belong here.
Once more, this administration is showing us what winning looks like. And no, we aren't tired of it yet. Not by a long shot.
