Some years back, when our three younger kids were in middle school and high school, my wife and the kids went through a "ceramics" phase. They took classes at a local ceramics shop and made a lot of neat little knick-knacks; figurines, coffee cups, beer mugs, all kinds of things. They cast them, painted them, fired them, and most of them were given away to family and friends. They had a lot of fun.
The ceramics studio was run by two men, one in his early 60s, the other in his late 40s. After my wife and the kids got to know these two guys, they learned that they were a couple, who lived together. The kids jokingly called them "Uncle Bob and Aunt Fred," and these guys took it in good humor. They were great guys, in a stable relationship, and seemed pretty happy. They are what I still think of as "normal" gay people. If you weren't friends with them, you'd never have known either of them was gay; it wasn't the main defining aspect of their lives, it was just one small part of who they were.
Now, I told you that so I could tell you this: The "normal" gay people, the "LGB" end of the "LGBTQ+" spectrum, are growing tired of the "TQ+" end, especially when the "TQ+" people insist on involving kids and the schools. On X, Jessica Rojas (@catsscareme2021,) shows us a TikTok video from a self-proclaimed "normal" gay person (TikTok ID appears to be @iliftfordoughnuts,) who tells us why.

Exactly!! Nobody cared until you went after the children, the locker rooms, sports and classrooms. pic.twitter.com/4yoCQhinZe

The video starts with a... person named "Jeffrey" watching a clip of JD Vance talking about normal gay people who just want (like so many of us) to be left alone - and segues into one of those people, the aforementioned @iliftfordoughnuts, who says:
Jeffrey, he's not talking about you. I think he's talking about me, a normal gay girl, and other people like me. You know - the LGB part? Because the LGB part is tired of y'all. The TYAQUXYZ.
Because about 2015, we got marriage rights, that was all we needed. That was all we needed for equality, people were dancing in the streets, we were excited, no one gave a s**t about us. It's only been about the last five years that people have given a giant s**t about us, and homophobia is on the rise. People don't like us again. Why is that? What changed? Do you think people just woke up one day and became more cruel?
No. People like you, Jeffrey, and the rest of the TYAQXYZ came out and said "Cool, now we're going to involve children. Cool, now we're going to have our teachers teach woke gender ideology and you have to be OK with it. Cool, now we're going to push for children to be able to reassign their gender. And you just have to accept it." The world is not accepting of it. The world is accepting of the LGB. And even some of the T, if you want to mind your business as an adult, not push those ideas on anyone else, and just be a person, like everyone else. That is what the world accepts.
But this new woke ideology you all have going on, you know, remember when that trans person went into Disney and talked about his "jingle balls" in front of children? That's what people aren't cool with. So look around, because JD is right. The gays are turning red. Look on just this platform, how many gay people are voting red for the first time.
Because y'all, we are tired. You guys ruined it for us.
That, folks, is quite a statement.

There are millions of "normal" gay men and women in the United States. They've been around throughout history. The vast majority of them, like the person speaking above, were content once they got the ability to marry and were happy to live their lives privately. For most of them, as for most straight people, their sex lives aren't their primary identifying characteristic. Most of them don't want this stuff taught in the schools. Most of them don't want children given irreversible hormone treatments and surgeries.
Every social movement continues until it reaches absurdity. The LGBTQXYZ+++ movement has now hit that moment. "Normal" gay people, who have historically trended to the left, are getting tired of this - and they are starting to re-evaluate their voting habits because of it. And that's a good thing; those of us who were already on the conservative/libertarian side should welcome them aboard. People should be free to live their lives as they see fit - but they are not and should not be free to push gender theory on other people's kids.
As "@iliftfordoughnuts" informs us, for normal gay people, that's a bridge that is way too far.
