The way that Donald Trump and his mere existence are playing on the media is something to behold. You would think that a world leader going to the funeral of the head of the Catholic Church would be an event that would be low-key and not newsworthy, unless, of course, the president of the United States punched someone in the face.
Donald Trump did not do that, but the media sure acted as though he was misbehaving the whole time.
I covered part of the nonsense earlier from the interwebs and media folks having a meltdown... Of All the Things to Criticize Trump For, This Take From the Pope's Funeral Might Be the Dumbest Yet.
Trump got dinged for wearing a suit to a funeral:
The story is HERE.
But as the couple then joined the rows of other world leaders dressed in dark attire, people said the US President stuck out like a sore thumb due to his clothing.
Although every other mourner appeared to be sporting black in line with Catholic customs, as it is seen as a sign of respect, Trump opted to wear a blue suit.
His colour pallette has managed to attract attention for all the wrong reasons, as a host of people tuning into the live coverage of Pope Francis' funeral have taken to social media to accuse him of having 'no class'.
One person wrote in a post on X: "Any reason why Donald Trump is in a blue suit and not wearing traditional black for a funeral?"
Another said: "I see that Trump’s wearing a blue suit to the Pope’s funeral so that he stands out. T**ser!"
A third commented: "Watching the funeral on BBC News. Trump is in a blue suit when everyone else is in black. No class."
Oh. POTUS wore a BLUE SUIT—the key word here is SUIT—to a funeral, and the media gets vapors over that?
We knew that former President Joe Biden would be over here, as it was posted on RedState HERE as Trump journeyed to Rome.
Now, though, it seems that the spin is that Trump left Joe seemingly on the side of the road looking for Jill, as I read about right HERE.
Not even the death of Pope Francis could bring President Donald Trump to make nice and ride with former President Joe Biden.
For a moment, I felt bad for sleepy Joe. Since he has left the perks of federal day care at the White House, he has to use regular transportation.
I'm not suggesting that he couldn't afford to fly first class on the plane ride over or even rent a luxurious jet with all that excess money that magically came his way while he was an elected official in the United States, but of course Air Force One is the best of the best and Joe probably would have enjoyed being back on the jet. That is, if he could recall whether he was ever on it before.
Yet there's a bit more here...
Sitting President George W. Bush rode with former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton on Air Force One to the funeral Mass of Pope John Paul II’s in 2005. Yet when Trump was told that Biden would also be attending the Saturday ceremony, he didn’t give his political rival much thought.
Ok, and....
“Oh he is? I didn’t know,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday, The Daily Mail reported. Trump said that a meeting with Biden during the trip to Italy was “not high on my list.”
The headline on the article says Trump refused to give Joe a ride to the event, but he did not know Joe was even alive and going to be at the same place at the same time, for cripes' sake.
I know the White House has protocols for this stuff, particularly when it comes to presidential travel or when a former president dies, but let's face it, Joe once fell up the stairs to Air Force One. Would it really surprise anybody if he fell down a couple of porch steps, banged his head and didn't speak to anybody for weeks?
Would anyone notice?
Someone should suggest that Trump be charged with a fashion crime for wearing a blue suit to a funeral and for not giving a former resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue a ride on public transportation so he could be "changed" in private.
Scratch that, some moron might try to do that.
The mainstream media are jerks.
I have a suggestion for my fellow Michiganian and friend of Trump, Bob Ritchie, also known as Kid Rock. He needs to come out with a song called "Trolling, Trolling, Trolling" because that's what Donald Trump is doing quite magnificently, and he is laughing the vast majority of the time when the media falls for it.
I'm only asking for 10 percent of the cut for the song idea, Mr. Rock.
Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
