Rep. Ro Khanna Falters When Hit With Question About Kamala Harris Being a Heartbeat From the Presidency

With the 2024 election now officially less than a year away, Joe Biden has hit some incredibly rough political rapids that look like they may well sink his re-election run next November.

You know things are getting bad when the left-leaning press starts to openly ask questions about the wisdom of keeping the current Democrat in office.

One example: Former guru of the 2008 Obama-Biden campaign David Axelrod says Sleepy Joe might want to take a nap for this election cycle. Oddly Enough, Joe Biden and David Axelrod Are 100 Percent Correct About Each Other

Axelrod was spot on.

So when my colleague Nick Arama penned this piece about Joe Biden's critique of former Obama guru David Axelrod (Biden Shows How Nasty and in Denial He Is With Vicious Crack About David Axelrod), I had to chime in, being as I have talked about Joe's weakness numerous times on my show Duke Over America over on Facebook

A new report from Politico takes a whack at Joe Biden, saying he won't have the capacity to govern or campaign the way other incumbents had in the past.

But Politico columnist Jonathan Martin went even deeper to reveal what a nasty character Joe Biden truly is when he is challenged. We've seen it before, including when he's called voters "fat" or threatened to take them outside.

Martin revealed how Biden made a nasty crack about David Axelrod after Axelrod questioned whether Biden should be running again, whether it was wise and in the best interests of the country. Axelrod said Biden's age was a huge issue.

That has been one of the nicest criticisms the 46th President has received in the past couple of months.

My compadre here at RedState, Mike Miller, had an article that went even a bit deeper into Biden's ineptitude with his piece 'Happening Quickly': Former White House Doctor Goes Bottom Line About Biden's Deteriorating Mental State.

From that post.

So, here's the thing. The president of the United States turned 81 years old on November 20. While we all know 81-year-olds — and older people — who have their stuff together, Joe is not one of those people. Dude gets lost on stage (often after losing a battle with his teleprompter), can't remember the names of members of his cabinet, and continues to make up silly crap like nobody's business. That's the reality.

Enter former White House physician, Texas Republican Congressman Ronny Jackson. Jackson not only believes Biden is unfit — mentally and physically — for the presidency; he also believes that the 46th president's downward spiral is steadily worsening.

"The decline is happening quickly," Jackson told Fox News host Sean Duffy.

[The decline is] happening quickly. Like you said, I've taken care of three presidents … so I know firsthand what it takes to be the commander-in-chief and the head of state. It's a grueling job, both mentally and physically. This man can't do the job. He's proven to us every single day that he can't do the job, but this is going to get worse.

The Democrats know it. We know it. They know we know it. Yet, in a creepy "Emperor's New Clothes" way, they pretend to ignore it. That concerns Jackson.

It's just unbelievable how much he's degenerated just during his time in office. We cannot afford to have this man in office for the remainder of this term and then [for] another four years after that. He's already putting us at great risk right now.

Biden is being lined up like a crash-test dummy right now.

It's clear, with CNBC's questioning of California Democrat Ro Khanna, the signal has been given to pile on Biden Inc.

However, this time, rather than limiting the query to Biden himself, reporter Joe Kernen asked Khanna how comfortable he was with Kamala Harris being called on to do her Harry Truman impersonation at a moment's notice

Kernen started by pressing Khanna a bit on (whatever) the strategy of Biden winning is.

“Nobody is on either — in either party is enthralled with what the choices are apparently going to be. I think that’s safe to say. You would agree with that?” Kernen asked.

“I agree — well, I’m for the president, but I agree —”

“Well, that’s where I’m going with this. So then if you do obviously with 70% even democratic disapproval for the president right now, and you look at the polls, you’re counting on Donald Trump being so bad that Joe Biden gets reelected. That’s what Democrats are counting — have I got the strategy right?”

Trump is so bad that people will just overlook Joe walking around on stage and tripping or shaking someone's hand that is not there. I guess that is a strategy.

“I think anyone today who was president of the United States would have low approval ratings,” Khanna said. “For whatever reason this country is in a place —”

“Ro, you understand that this is Joe Biden at 81. He just had a birthday. You’re comfortable with Joe Biden at 85 in the job as president, honestly?”

“Honestly I met with him probably a month ago. If you see him, he keeps a 14-hour day. He is capable of doing the job. We can have an argument —”

Khanna is reeling a bit, given that he is not supposed to be questioned like this about the 81-year-old geriatric who currently is wandering the residential quarters at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue looking for an ice cream cone.

Then, the drop-kick question came out of the blue, leaving Khanna with nothing but a wish.

“Are you comfortable with Kamala Harris a heartbeat away, vice president, a heartbeat away from that?”

“Yes, I am. Look, here is the point. Do I wish Joe Biden was 65, sure. But there’s no perfect candidate. There never is.”

As I have mentioned many times here at RedState, 65-year-old Joe Biden, who was a Senator from Delaware at that time, has never been considered somebody with whom you wanted to go and discuss a tough bill or how to navigate legislation through the chamber. Biden was more the one you went and had a beer with and told an inappropriate joke to.

The only difference I can truly recall between 65-year-old Joe Biden and 81-year-old Joe Biden is that I don't think he tripped as much. Biden has always been a bit of a hothead who liked to pretend that he is much smarter than he ever was and obviously became rich by making just over $160,000 a year on a paltry senator's salary.

Recently, some things have come to light that might explain his good fortune, but I’m not going to jump ahead of the House Committees investigating all that.

I don't blame Khanna for possibly feeling like he was sandbagged during this interview. Democrats in the media are not supposed to fire surprise questions at elected Democrats, but someone waved the flag to start the race, and it is on.

Just like Rep. Khanna here, we all wish Kamala Harris was not in the Number Two slot, but his party agreed to her, so that is totally on them.
